It does not matter who is in charge of negotiations, the bottom lines remain the same which are no preconditions, Jerusalem is Israel's capital, Pal state must be demilitarized, no right of return, no settlement freeze , Israel must be recognized as a Jewish state, and all Jewish communities remain intact. The rest is open to negotiation.

There's no reason to always question why a politician changes their perspective on issues or policies continually as the process of events are always changing with national circumstances and their own personal growth. Livni started out as a Likud politician and moved more moderate with direct experiences which influenced her positions. Many Israeli women identified with her throughout her political career, and certainly many must be happy about this inclusion within the coalition.
