Four people were killed after a Palestinian vehicle and a tourist bus collided head on near the Dead Sea on Friday, with several passengers escaping with only minor injuries.

The casualties in the crash near Kibbutz Kalia came from the private vehicle, all West Bank residents, while several of the passengers on the bus were lightly injured.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the private vehicle swerved from its lane and hit the tourist bus head on, sending the car into the roadside ditch.

The accident came after another deadly traffic accident caused the death of two people in the Golan Heights earlier Friday, after a van hit a tractor near Had Ness junction north of the Kinneret.

Police said that the van struck a tractor that was driving slowly along the road's shoulder near the Arik bridge at around A.M. 0500, with poor visibility.

The casualties are residents of the Israeli Arab village of Kasra in the Galilee. One man was seriously injured in the accident, and was evacuated to Haifa's Rambam Medical Center.
