A two-day-old baby was found on Saturday near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem and hospitalized in stable condition. A medic who arrived on the scene said the umbilical cord was still attached to the infant, who was laid on a blanket in an apartment building on Hanevi'im Street.

A plastic bag was left next to the infant containing diapers, a bottle of milk and a note in Arabic saying "This is my baby, Usana, take care of her." Jerusalem Police launched an investigation.

About two weeks ago. a 16-month-old infant was found wandering alone in Upper Nazareth. A police investigation found that the infant was left under the supervision of her 12-year-old sister.
