Knesset budget marathon: Napping the filibuster away
During the final hours of an 18-hour filibuster, some members of Knesset reached for their smartphones, or a bit of shuteye.
The Knesset passed the 2013-14 state budget at 3:10 A.M. Tuesday following an 18-hour filibuster. Fifty-eight MKs voted in favor and 43 were opposed.
During the final hours, some MKs reached for YouTube or Instagram on their smartphones - if they were still awake.
On Monday evening the Knesset passed the Economic Arrangements Bill that accompanies each budget; that bill passed 56 to 41.
