Israeli army paying above-market rent for lone soldiers
Organization that supports underprivileged soldiers collects rent from army's budget, but fund do not match market rates.
The Israel Defense Forces pays the Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s Soldiers far more than market rates to cover lone soldiers’ rent, Haaretz has learned. But the association says this is because it also covers many of the soldiers’ ancillary expenses, ranging from water and electricity to cleaning supplies and repairs.
