Blind Israeli workers pay price for NGO dispute with ministry
Social Affairs Ministry denies it has stopped funding charity that employs visually impaired
As lunchtime approaches, the blind working at the sheltered workshop in Jerusalem place napkins on the tables in the dining hall, which hasn’t been cleaned well for six weeks. Workers take out sandwiches that they’ve brought from home, since the hot lunches have also stopped. The workshops’ two bathrooms are no longer cleaned every day, either.
