Military Police investigation raises suspicion that former IDF chief Gaza Ashkenazi was involved in an attempt meant to sway the choice of his successor; Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein says he has come to believe the findings warranted a deeper probe.
Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein on Thursday instructed police to open a criminal investigation against former IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and his assistant Col. (res.) Erez Weiner in the so-called Harpaz affair.
