Businessmen and veterinarians are promoting an initiative to save macaque monkeys at Mazor farm, which breeds and exports them for experimentation.
Five months have passed since Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) signed new regulations banning the export of wild animals from Israel for experimental purposes. But the fate of some 2,000 long-tailed macaque monkeys at Mazor farm, which breeds and exports the monkeys for experimentation, remains open.
