Mofaz looks to force Livni to hold Kadima primaries sooner
Kadima cuts short committee meeting after details were leaked to the press in real time.
By Mazal Mualem Tags: Israel newsShaul Mofaz, the former army chief, defense minister, and now chief rival to Kadima chairwoman Tzipi Livni, demanded Thursday that the party hold primaries within three months.
Kadima, the leading opposition party to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the largest party in the Knesset, prematurely adjourned a committee meeting on Thursday after the details of the session were leaked to the press in real time.
Mofaz, who attended the meeting while Livni was absent, received backing for his position from MK Otniel Schneller.
During the hearing, most party members said they supported remaining in the opposition for the long term and that primaries should be held either in 2011 or 2012.
Despite being at odds with party institutions, Mofaz plans a number of grassroots events in the hopes that his significant contingent of backers on the ground will create a groundswell of pressure that will compel Livni to declare primaries sooner.

...is to get rid of the appeaser Livni, not that I have much use for Kadima either.
Livni is doing a good job of killing Kadima. It is a pitiful and pathetic little party bent on the ruin of Israel. Let her do her work and finish off this pathetic party ! In doing so she will have at last done a service to Israel and she will destroy herself politically.
... he will cause people to flee from Kadima... ... for the sake of the moledet, he should take early-retirement... there are many alternative professions open to ex-IDF generals...
What a lunatic, let him work and let her work. When the time comes they can campaign, but not every 3 months elections, it's no video game but running our state!
