Jordan foils major al-Qaida plot to attack Western targets

How can Al-Qaeda be linked to the Syrian regime when the regime is shia and Al-Qaeda are Sunni? This smacks of desperation on the part of Israel and the west.

I guess it makes more sense to connect them to Assad if you're looking for justification for military intervention? Syrian regime is fighting daily against Al Qaida terrorists with Iranian support. As it repeated all the time in news. Now we are suddenly demanded to believe that Syrian regime is behind Al Qaida in Jordan. Heh heh.

Yes, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a key ally. Her Majesty Queen Rania is one of the most highly regarded women in the Middle East (& I would think in Israel also).
