Egypt's army rulers indicated they would not revoke a constitutional amendment supporting their rule of the country, a spokesman for the Supreme Council of the Armed forces said on Wednesday, adding that the panel's head, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi would serve as the next cabinet's defense minister.

That could be a good thing, considering that the governing military and the Brotherhood are not the best of friends. Not having control over the army could render them relatively impotent.
