With the playoffs on the line and the teams in the Red and Dr. Murray's Israel Basketball League playing their hearts out to secure a spot in the Tier 1 playoffs, The Big Fish netted the catch of the day, swallowing the opposition hook, line and sinker.

"We've faced some rough seas," said Big Fish captain Yosef Jungreis, "and some people thought it would be too tough for us to scale. But we sure schooled them - our cast is the best."

Hawke & Co. came into the week looking to solidify its first-place status. Its first game this week was against SeaPort 17th/Big Apple Pizza. The game started off close, with both teams displaying solid fundamentals. In the second half captain Jared Stein hearted up for Hawke, leading his team with 13 points to a 40-30 win.

Hawke's second game of the week pitted it against the only other undefeated team, Trumanaires, in a battle of the greats. The first half began close, with both teams shooting well and running the ball nicely. In the second half superstar Yisrael Feld led Hawke & Co., which pulled away for a 59-43 victory, clinching the top playoff seed in the process.

In the showdown between The Big Fish and Trumanaires, Chaim Webber scored 23 points and Captain Yosef Jungreis added 14 points, helping The Big Fish pulled away with a 61-53 win.

In the opening game of the week, Potomac18 took on Bromptons in the first game of a double-headed week for them. Bromptons was led by All Star guard Adi Isaacs and his hot hand from 3-point range, scoring 25 points including an outstanding 7 buckets from behind the arc. Bromptons started very strong and looked eager to prove it deserved a playoff spot. Potomac18 answered with a big comeback in the second half, and at the end of regulation the score was tied at 60. In overtime, Potomac18 captain Herschel Bacharach (17 points ) and his boys would not give up.

In its second game of the week Potomac18 faced Pizza Mevaseret. It had an easier time, running away with a big 56-40 victory.

In the final game of the week Jerry's Kids took on TK Associates-L.A. Ballers. Jerry's Kids moved toward the front of the playoff race, with a 67-50 victory.
