Your Next Mideast News Source: Hezbollah Launches New App

'LCG' is available via the Apple Store for iPhone and iPad. Two years ago, another Hezbollah app was removed from the store.

Looking for a new Mideast news source? Hezbollah has launched a news app through its official satellite channel Al-Manar, Maariv reports.

'LCG' is available for free download via the Apple Store, and is described as "an application that brings news from all around the world."

The app from the the Lebanese Shi'ite group, whose military wing has been designated as a terrorist organization by the European Union, is available for iPhone and iPad, with content in Arabic, French, Spanish and English.

This is not Hezbollah's first attempt to launch an application. In 2012, Apple and Google removed another Al-Manar app. The app gave mobile access to the channel's contents, including speeches by the group's leader Hassan Nasrallah and praise for suicide bombers, Maariv said.

Al-Manar was designated by the U.S. Treasury in 2006 as the "the arm of the Hezbollah terrorist network," and the channel is not available in countries including the U.S., Germany, France and Spain.
