Syrians, bracing for U.S. onslaught, aren’t getting their hopes up
Syrians are worried about what may happen, but while some view the threatened U.S. strike as aggression others hope it will break the logjam in the civil war.
"One could say that everyone in Syria, especially in Damascus, is tense and waiting, but the assessment is that we won't get into a big war, that it will be a strike that could mark a turning point in the war after two and a half years." That’s the view of a middle-class resident of the Syrian capital, who spoke to Haaretz on condition of anonymity.
