Likudniks blast 'enemy of the Jews' Obama over settlement freeze
Member of Netanyahu's Likud party: Obama administration is 'worst regime there ever was' for Israel.
By Chaim Levinson Tags: Israel settlements Moshe Ya'alon Likud Israel newsRank-and-file Likudniks and lawmakers in the ruling Likud party lambasted the Obama administration at a gathering on Saturday, in response to Israel's decision to temporarily freeze construction in West Bank settlements.
MK Dani Danon organized the meeting after Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat (Likud) launched a verbal attack over the matter on U.S. President Barack Obama's administration, which she branded "terrible."
While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately distanced himself from her comments, the activists at Saturday's conference leveled further criticism at Obama over the moratorium, which Israel undertook to carry out in the wake of tremendous U.S. pressure.
"The Obama administration is an enemy of the Jews and the worst regime there ever was for the State of Israel," said Yossi Naim, the head of the Beit Aryeh regional council, at the Ra'ana meeting. "I announce to Obama: You won't be able to stop us."
The mayor of the West Bank settlement of Ariel, Ron Nahman, called Netanyahu's announcement of the settlement freeze a disgrace.
Directing his comments to Livnat, he said: "I am proud and happy that you said what you said, because you had the public courage to say what most of the public feels ever since Obama came to power."
Nahman repeatedly referred to the U.S. leader as "Hussein Obama," omitting his first name.
Ya'alon cancels lecture in Kiryat Arba in face of rightist protest
Meanwhile, Vice Prime Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) cancelled a appearance at the settlement of Kiryat Arba on Saturday, due to a plan by right-wing activists to stage a protest the settlement freeze.
Ya'alon, who also strategic affairs minister, was meant to speak about "taking responsibility" to hundreds of teenagers at a gathering organized the local council.
But a group of right-wingers, including prominent activists Itamar Ben-Gvir, Noam Federman and Baruch Marzel, went to the hall where Ya'alon was meant to speak, with the intention of protesting against the minister's support for the settlement freeze.
Ya'alon's security representative saw the rightists, who were holding placards, and announced that the minister could not enter the building while they were still there. Following a 40-minute discussion, Ya'alon decided to leave the site without speaking.
Ben-Gvir said in response: "Whoever voted in favor of strangling the settlements will not be surprised that people want to protest against him."

I don't intend to be your pen pal, so I will repeat one more time the facts to disprove your fallacious statements. The only Arab states receiving US aid are Jordan and Egypt. I wrote you the precise amounts they receive. But you write again the false figure of $700 billion. You are either unable to read or a liar. The sovereign Arab states of Jordan and Egypt are not related to your effort to propagandize them as terrorists states. By doing so a second time, you are intellectually dishonest. I didn't apologize for anyone I simply pointed out that your statement that Al Qaeda is a Saudi organization is a lie, and, in fact, Saudi Arabia is doing more than Israel against Al Qaeda. You didn't answer my question, how may Al Qaeda members has Israel killed and imprisoned?
You seem to be an apologist for the Islamist-Jihadist world or states in the Middle East. It is doubtful whether you have read any current literature written by experts on Islamist-Jihadism/Terrorism. There is no point arguing with you about the figures pertaining to America's financial aid to Arab Islamist-Jihadist states in the Middle East apart from the $700 billion petrodollars that America pours into the coffers of the oil producing Islamist-Jihadist states in the region annually. You seem to cover up on Al Queda, making it appear as if the Wahhabhist kingdom in the region has no connection with Islamist-Jihadist terrorism around the world. Until you have read at least more than two books by experts on Islamist-Jihadism/Terrorism, your comment is superficial.
In posting #163, the question was raised whether you are intellectually dishonest or under-educated. This posting puts that question to rest. You posted in #24, "wasting tax payer money by giving billions of dollars to Arab Islamist-Jihadists in the Middle East." My #163 was designed to prove that statement false. It did. So you change the subject to proffer a 9th grade history lesson. Forget it! You used Islamist-Jihadists to portray recipients of US aid as terrorists. If you did not mean that you would have called those recipients Arab governments. Egypt and Jordan are not terrorist regimes nor terrorist sponsors. Israel and the US do not face common terrorist targets. How many times do you have to read it? Al Qaeda has never attacked Israel. Al Qaeda is not a Saudi terrorist organization. Saudi Arabia is in the front line fight against Al Qaeda. Recently, in 4 days, the Saudis killed 15 Al Qaeda members. They have over 200 in prison. How many has Israel killed and imprisoned?
Your posting did not address either my #161 or # 162. Your posting is irrelevant to both. By the way the US gave Israel $86 million in aid in 1952 and $13 million each year until the 6-day war, when it ballooned. But US aid to Israel was not our subject, it was simply a passing comment on the aid Israel will lose when the US becomes tired of and had enough of your insults and lack of respect. Try us.
Let's clear the decks: After Israel became an independent country in 1948, the United States joined an embargo on weapons sales to Israel, the 1949 Tripartite Agreement on weapons. Although the US sold hundreds of millions of dollars in weaponry to Arab states during the 1950s and early 1960s, there were no sales to Israel until 1962 when the US agreed to sell to Israel its first significant American system, the HAWK anti- aircraft missile. The amounts fluctuating, generally increasing as the cooperation with Israel became closer or in years when Israel was forced to fight defensive wars or terrorism. From 1960 until 1985, there were no grants; aid consisted largely of loans, which Israel repaid, and surplus commodities, which Israel bought. The reference "U.S. Assistance to Israel" gives a table of annual amounts. The aid to other countries in the region has also increased and is similar in total amount. Much of the aid to Israel is for defense and the money is actually spent with U.S. suppliers so it recycles back to the United States. Israel is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. Several binational programs allow American companies and universities to benefit from Israel?s expertise in agriculture and high technology, while others aim to break down barriers to trade and cooperation between the two countries to make collaboration easier. Israel was the first country to sign a free trade agreement with the US, which has resulted in a quintupling of trade between the two countries. The US-Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has served as a model for other trade agreements including the October 2000 FTA between the US and Jordan.
Ron, your knowledge of Islamist-Jihadism is zero. Islamist-Jihadists are Islamists who profess the Islamist faith. They may come in different shades. Some as foot terrorists and others in Western garbed sponsors of Islamist terrorism. But they are all Islamist-Jihadists driven by their religious ideology to crusade their Jihadism to subdue, dominate and islamize Dar Al Harb and turn them into Dar Al Islam. Both America and Israel face a common enemy-Islamist-Jihadism! Al Queda is a Saudi Islamist-Jihadist terrorist organization that is sponsored by Wahhabhist Saudi Arabia. And so are the Islamist-Jihadist terrorist factories around the world called Madrassas that are being sponsored by Saudi Arabia. If you don't know this, then you have not done the research. Read "Secrets of the Kingdom" by Gerald Posner, "They Must Be Stopped" by Brigitte Gabriel, "Why We Want To Kill You" by Walid Shoebat, "Hatred's Kingdom" by Dore Gold, PhD, "Funding Evil" by Rachel Ehrenfeld, PhD, etc.
I have read a number of your postings. Either you are intellectually dishonest, or just under-educated. Since virtually everyone of your posts contains false information, I suspect the former. The US does not give $700 billion in aid to Islamist-Jihadists. By using that term you mean Muslim terrorists. How childish. You are a liar. The US gives no aid to Muslim terrorists, only to Arab allies who help serve our national security interests. We give combined $2.32 million to Egypt and Jordan, and no other Arab states. They are good allies and provide excellent intelligence support in our war against Al Qaeda and its affiliates. We provide combined $1.68 million to Pakistan and Afghanistan to help in our war effort. This aid is not petro-dollars but US tax payer dollars. The US and Israel do not fight a common enemy. Israel fights Hamas and Hesbollah. They don't attack the US. The US confronts Al Qaeda. It doesn't attack Israel. And Israel provides no help against that target.
How in the world can Israel STAND UPRIGHT WITH DIGNITY when it has a record of crimes against humanity which compares to that of Burma and North Korea. James, it is impossible to speak of dignity when you are speaking on behalf of a country that has been occupying Palestinian territory for 42 years in violation of international law and UN resolutions for refusing to withdraw from that territory, built on that territory and annexed Jerusalem in violation of UN resolutions and articles of the 4th Geneva Convention, and therefore could be prosecuted for a war crime. The same country that is imposing a blockade as collective punishment on a civilian population in Gaza in violation of article 33 of the 4th Geneva Convention, and thus in legal jeopardy for another war crime. That is the same Israel that built the security wall on Palestinian territory that has been declared illegal by the UN International Court of Justice. Zeev in #159 couldnt have put it better.
Encourage Israeli's to call the President of the United States, Israel?s sole dedicated ally for 60 years, a muslim, Husein Obama, the ignoramus, anti-semite, and whatever disrespectful names you Jewish ingrates can think of. Build without restrictions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, tell the US to go to hell. Attack a US naval vessel again, continue running espionage operations against the US, sell our technology to China, sell more of the intelligence you got from Pollard to the Russians. Then finally, the US can cease supporting Israel in the UN, cease guaranteeing Israel's international loans and stop the $3 billion a year in aid (now totaling over $3 trillion since 1948) and begin pursuing its own national interests in the ME, not those of Israel. Without US support, Israel will be totally isolated in the world and the settlements will be irrelevant. And the US can can finally dump the unproductive one-sided burden we have been carrying, and show what a nasty enemy we can be.
http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Facts+About+Israel/Israel+in+Maps/1947+UN+Partition+Plan.htm From the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs... Under the category heading of - FACTS ABOUT ISRAEL... In 1947, Great Britain relinquished to the UN the power to make decisions relating to the status of the Land of Israel. The General Assembly appointed a special committee that collected evidence and decided unanimously that Israel should be granted independence. Most of the committee members favored partitioning the land into two states, a Jewish state and an Arab state, with Jerusalem under international supervision. On November 29, 1947, the UN General Assembly accepted the partition resolution, 33 to 13.
Because it is NOT our right to scatter settlements as so many 'facts on the ground' in every corner of a land outside our sovereignty, -- against the opinion of the entire world. Because it is not our right to be the only democratic country on earth to keep trying, after 42 years have past, to impose its will on a captive foreign stateless population - as if we were the last of colonial powers. Time is long past when subjugation of one people by another could lead to peace. What other nations, much more powerful we can ever be, have understood long ago, we, supposedly a clever people, have not learned yet.
Because we are projecting--more & acting as cowards and giving in whenever things change.Unless we STAND UPRIGHT WITH DIGNITY the present problems will exacerbate. It shows weakness and the consequences will be a downfall. However,In hopes that the leaders understand once and for all that they must unite and not PUT STUMBLING BLOCKS tothe PM. Additionally the PM should act more robustly and maintain the promises he made during electioneering.
They are there to stay whether Husein Barack agrees or not. There will never be A FREEZE,NOT UNTIL HELL FREEZES OVER.....And that is a long, long time when the world will diappear from the GLOBE, You,I,and the rest will BE GONE.
Read a bit more to inform yourself of the problems caused by the jihadists tat Brod is referring. Also on the oil revenues who come not only from the ME,but also from South America and Africa. It would enlighten you somewhat if you read #56 who's explanation is clear, unless you have a closed mind.
What hand, and what bite? I am of course joking because what you wrote in your post is not only accurate but the fact we produce our own weapons and all the necessary equipments which are the ENVY of the world They queque to buy our expertize and the wherewithal. We do extremely well financially therefore not dependant on the US after all. The losers won't be Israel, but the Americans. If they decide to put further pressure they will regret it in the long/short time.
The why is if Netanyahu gives in to the leftists he is DEAD and will be thrown out of his job. To think we thought we were getting a sort of right wing PM? looks like a chameleon who has changed,in bending to Obama's wishes. There again we read that Clinton approves NOT FREEZE and accept it.Or have I misconstured the article on another forum??
for our own weakness. If we were strong and stood up for our rights we would not be bullied.
Enough of the diplomatic lies. Israel has no intention of sharing Palestine with the native inhabitants. If more Americans were aware of that, American efforts would be directed to finding homes for the displaced Palestinians instead of wasting time, money, and effort on Israel.
"nd if you beleive in the Israeli state based on UN resolution to split the land on 1948 or 47 and not the 1967 offer. you beleive in Laws." Arab Legau did not believe in 1947 law thus started 1948 1956 war which in theend led to 1967 1973 etc wars First Arabs and Muslims Must accpet the olaw before you apply it to Israel
The Last ?President over Israel? was Shimeon bar Kosiba (Bar Kochva) whose letters were found in 1960 by Israeli archeologist Yigael Yadin excavating caves on the sheer walls of the Wadi al Murabbah near the Dead Sea. Bar Kochva commanded an army that liberated all of Judea in the Second Great Revolt against Rome. The Roman historian Cassius Dio describes a desolate Judea after a half-million Jewish soldiers were killed in the fiercest revolt faced by the Roman Empire. Roman losses were so heavy that Emporer Hadrian found it necessary to omit from his report to the Senate the customary introductory statement "I and my army are well". The name of the Jewish nation of Israel was replaced with Palestine, but there has never been an independent nation other than a Jewish nation in Judea and Samaria. We have returned to rebuild our nation IN OUR LAND. Our future lies in remembering our past.
the borders were not defined in 1947. thjose were borders for eparating Jews and Arabs in order to avoid mahem. The only legit borders are those determined by the state of Israel and its neighbors. Repeat, the UN did not set the borders of Israel nor of the so called Palestinian state. the Pals only declared their nationhood in 1988. and then they laid claim to territory that they declared to be theirirs. everybody else genuflected according to their dependence on arab oil and the threats from the Islamist Jihadists. Now you should understand once and for all--there are no legal borders and there are no illegal settlements. there is a state of Israel which at war with Syria and Lebanon on their borders, as well asIraq, Saudi Arabia , Yemen, Libia and the Sudan and with a variety of Terrorist factions including Hamas , Hesbolah, al Qaida, and you name it.
The more Americans hear the vile blather of the despicable, racist Likudniks, the sooner they'll come to understand that Israel is neither a democracy or an ally to the U.S. It's finally happening- slowly, but surely. Please keep talking!
MS.COHEN'S UNWARRANTED AND DISRESPECTFUL RESPONSE TOWARD ISRAEL'S PRIME MINISTER.
If the Likud Party thinks Obama is bad, does that mean they will not accept money, loans and weapon systems from the US, while he remains President???
This so-called Freeze is a farce and most everyone can see that. I'm sick and tired of the likudniks and their fellow right wing supporters thinking they are above the law and don't have to comply with the Geneva convention and binding UNSC resolutions and their commitments under the road map. Israel is required to STOP ALL settlement activity!! Obama unfortunately caved which shows no courage. If Israel is going to bad mouth us than the U.S. should cut all aid to Israel. Enough is enough of these right wing whiners.
Israel is not "fed" by the United States. The aid is mainly guaranteed loans to buy inferior American military gear. The Israelis could produce it all themselves, and probably should, if only to shut up these fools who think the Americans are somehow propping them up. Sure, cut off the "aid". But just keep in mind--that aid is mainly a jobs program for Americans and a small and increasingly questionable benefit to Israel. Those who wish to cut off American support to Israel never comment on the $2 billion that is sent annually to Egypt, a country where many vicious anti-American articles and speeches are produced every year. Just read memri.org for translations. Egypt discriminates against Christians, waged several unprovoked wars against Israel, and is gradually becoming dangerously fundamentalist. Those who focus single mindedly on Israel as though it is the root of all evil in the world, are merely revealing themselves to be Jew-haters or Zionist haters. Same old, same old.
If you don't like our president, then stop taking our money. Real Simple.
Some of the anti-Zionist posters seem to assume that the U.S. and the Arab countries (plus al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, etc.) are in the moral right, while Israel is somehow wrong. Yet, Israel alone among Middle Eastern nations tolerates freedom of religion, freedom of speech, electoral government, and only Israel gives the U.S. valuable intelligence of terror attacks on American soil. What kind of a friend is this? A true friend. What kind of a friend is the U.S.? An opportunistic, confused, bumbling moron that time and again forces Israel to do the wrong thing. It was wrong to stop the 2006 war in Lebanon before the job was done. It was wrong to pull out of Gaza in 2009 so quickly. And it would be dangerous, wrong, and downright insane to give up the buffer territories which serve Israel's early warning and defense purposes. Why is Israel in the "occupied" territories? Because of five all-out wars. Israel has the high moral ground, as well as the military justification.
Israel has become one of the most dangerous, if not the most dangerous, "friendships" that the US has in the world. Forget the invention of the cell phone. It is time that American Jews decide which country they hold dearest. If it is the US,which took them in with open arms, then they must say it and decry all efforts by AIPAC and the other Jewish control mechanisms over the US government...and stop sending money or weapons to Israel. If it is Israel, then they should also state it, and say up front that AIPAC is an arm of the Jewish control over the US government....and sign up with AIPAC as the agent of a foreign power. Time to choose, boys and girls.
u.s. fully supports israel.israel fully supports settlement.ergo u.s. backs settlement unconditionally.not just lip service, but big money and big guns.and since even likudniks can fathom this, their bad-mouthing obama,is part of the america-israel show,in which america plays the supporting role of failing gentle-persuader,and israel the star maverick.
"Israel has a right to Govern and defend its citizens as it sees fit." (Lochem Yehudi) Absolute nonsense. Keeping captive, for 42 years, a foreign and stateless people, building settlements as so may 'facts on the ground' on a land outside its sovereignty, against the opinion of the entire international community, is no way for a state to defend its citizens. What is obvious to sane-minded people, birdbrained cannot begin to grasp.
U r right Lochem Yehudi. Israel gives a TON of regional intelligence that has KEPT the world from mass WORLD WAR until now - but has ALSO been one of the FEW nations in this region which does NOT convict and ENACT Muslim HONOR KILLINGS of Muslim WOMEN - which by now are FAR more numerous than the death toll of ALL Arab/Israeli wars COMBINED! THINK about it, people. Just try and THINK about it! Just try. And CLARITY MAY come into view.
Funny how my African American students do not share your smug, self-satisfied view of racial integration in the US, and one can hardly blame them, with a staggering one in nine black men between 20 and 34 in jail or prison (I guess you think they got there because they are just more prone to commit crimes, right, not because of a savagely racist and brutal system of criminal justice). And please do not tell me how much better it is getting; it only appears that way to people like you who do not see the racism because it is so fully institutionalized, which allows you to live in your fantasy world in which we are so rapidly moving toward racial justice and true integration. Yeah, right.
Israel has a lot to gain from America this is true but as for these idiots out there that think that Israel is a puppet of America just because we recieve aid from them, you are all very uninformed. Israel trades hightech weapon systems with America and I'm sure provides America with a ton of regional intelligence, not to mention being the only reliable democracy in the entire area. Israel has a right to Govern and defend its citizens as it sees fit. We are not a puppet of America or Obama.
No religious group should be given any preferential treatment whatsoever over another. I wont have my family put at risk with another 9-11 even to please idiots like these that are talking about our President.
"Judea and Samaria are Israel's historic homeland which Israel liberated from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in 1967." (Brod) When Israel captured the West Bank in June '67, this territory had been under Jordanian rule for 19 years. It takes an ignorant blockhead to call the late King Hussein an "Islamist-Jihadist".
"...Nahman repeatedly referred to the U.S. leader as "Hussein Obama," omitting his first name..." How assinine, how stupid, how childish. What does this moron think to achieve with this? He must think of himself as a little Napoleon ! But keep it up - I hope your come-uppance will come soon ! David
While we have real enemies, this disgraceful entourage reaches a new low. They are not even right wing. They are fanatical, dangerous, utterly shameless. What the hell got into their heads!?!?! Shame shame and more shame. Disgrace to the race.
"Judea and Samaria are Israel`s historic homeland which Israel liberated from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in 1967." BROD please refer to case #2056/04 Beit Zourik V Israel held by the Israeli High Court of Justice in which the said court ruled that Judea/Samaria defunct biblical terms is territory held under "Belligerent Occupation" by Israel. Ergo, and even simple for you to understand --it cannot be Israeli sovereign territory because a sovereign cannot occupy it,s own territory. Hope that clears it up for all those who might be led ny Brod,s misinfromation,
The US GIVES Israel billions of dollars in hard earned taxpayer money from the the citizens of the United States. I suggest these leeches shut their mouths, or give us (Me) back our (MY) money. That way the grateful people of the United States can get their national health care, improve our school systems, maintain our roads. If you have a problem with the US, give us our money back. You're on your own!
"When people criticize Zionists they mean Jews, you are talking anti-Semitism." Doctor Martin Luther King; Harvard University 1968. Just remember what THE WARRIOR KING spoke to Joshua; Chapter One, Verses one through nine. Peace.
"The scenario you brought up exists only in fantasyland."brod I gave you the link fella---obviously you are scared by facts---they screw up your disney world. You see Brod--I did not post the information for you---that as always is a waste of time. Horros of horrors Brod---someone else may take a peek and then offer it to someone elase and then before you know it---you and your ilk will find that the cat is out of the bag.
how much has it cost USA ref western europe ie 2nd ww and cold war, how many dead us soldiers ? how much to protect S.Korea ? how much to protect herself and the west against islamism (and dont give me the bs that without the arab/israel conflict islamism wouldnt exist). No israel would mean a totally islamic m.east in no time...is that what you want ?
**The arrogange and smug self righteous of these ingrates turns the stomachs of all fair minded people around the world** So I gather your tender likkle tummy stayed "UNTURNED"
You seem not to know about America's financial contribution to the Islamist-Jihadist countries in the Middle East and Southern Asia-Afghanistan and Pakistan. America has poured billions of dollars into these countries. What a waste of America's taxpayers' money! America should stop wasting money on these scoundrels and use the money to improve its ailing economy and eliminate its skyrocketing deficits.
The scenario you brought up exists only in fantasyland.
Judea and Samaria are Israel's historic homeland which Israel liberated from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in 1967.
No shame No truth No hope No Future One Person One Vote One State
When the UK pulled out of the mandate in 1947and the UN GA voted partition Israel declared itself a state but the Arabs refused to recognize the UN GA partition and Israel. Many UN nations recognized Israel as a stated but many, mostly Arab or Muslim did not, and many more since who are Muslim don't. What does it mean? It means that there are no previously agreed upon boundaries for the state of Israel, there never were. Since there is no legal boundary there are no illegal settlements. The only legal boundary is between Israel and Jordan and between Israel and Egypt. Israel itself is not a legal state anymore than is the US of A, CIS, UK, EU or country whatsoever. Who exactly decides upon the "legal boundaries" of these countries, or any countries for that matter? Are the boundaries between India and Pakistan "legal"?
The Palestinians around them?? Obama??? Or those who created that situation ...
you will terrorize also if others were taking your land as it has happened, US and rest of world will not legitimize territorial aggression based on your pretences.
Most Jews, the US and the EU would like to give it another try at appeasing the Palestinians in the hope they will accept a Jewish state. The minority Jewish rejectionists are simply throwing a tantrum because they don't wish any agreement even if it were possible. Ironically, the Jewish rejectionists will win out in the end because the Palestinians reject a Jewish state and their only wish was to squeeze out some free concessions like a permanent settlement freeze.
you are so naieve...usa money to israel is best investment because you have a genuine ally....money elsewhere to appease arabs/muslims the amounts you spend trying to contain islamists ....try looking at this from a business perspective. btw europe is biggest recipient of usd by trillions, how many us soldiers dead freeing eurttope and how much it cost during cold war ? how much u spending with troops in s.korea ? the prob is islamists and whilst usa = infidel nation...u can make nice as much as you want....and you are just wasting your time...INFIDELS you will remain
Check the link provided below for info on just how much the USA has given Israel---not to mention political cover at the UN. http://www.wrmea.com/archives/November_2008/0811010.html It must be emphasized that this analysis is a conservative, defensible accounting of U.S. direct aid to Israel, NOT of Israel?s cost to the U.S. or the American taxpayer, nor of the benefits to Israel of U.S. aid. The distinction is important, because the indirect or consequential costs suffered by the U.S. as a result of its blind support for Israel exceed by many times the substantial amount of direct aid to Israel. (See, for example, the late Thomas R. Stauffer?s article in the June 2003 Washington Report, ?The Costs to American Taxpayers of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: $3 Trillion.?) Give it a rest Brod--if you hate America so much---you know what top do.
whilst the usa remains an infidel nation, the futures and interests of usa and israel are very much the same. u clearly have no understanding of what islamism is all about or how many countries in the world are at war with extremists islamists ...and losing. the greatest danger is western ignorance of what this is all about.
If the world say 2 states you say no If the world say one country for all you say no ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Combine this with the fatwa of the great Israeli Rabbi Yitzhak Shapria of the Israeli government-supported Ode Yosef Yai yeshiva (Haaretz, Nov. 17, 2009) that Jews should kill gentile babies who might grow up to harm Israel, and what do you get? Combine this with Yaakov "Jack" Teital, and what do you get? Combine this with the USS Liberty, and what do you get? Should the Obamas should watch their children carefully? I'll leave that to the good Rabbi and the Mossad. Don't be surprised if the colonist movement launches its own shaheed operation against Obama and his family, just as they did against Rabin.
Leah, Unfortunately, you have no realistic concept of what is good for Israel or anywhere else. Peace. Stephen
The Jews have contributed to making America a great nation. In WWII, brilliant Jewish Scientists in the Manhattan Project built America's A-Bomb that ended the war. The cell phone and other technological wonders are the products of Jewish Scientists. Being the only Democracy in the region, Israel has helped assure America's supremacy in the region. Ironically, while America helped defend the Islamist people in the Balkans, and enriched Arab Islamist-Jihadist states in the Middle East, Saudi Islamist-Jihadists attacked America and murdered 3000 Americans in cold blood on 9/11. The treachery of the Islamist-Jihadist world is beyond comprehension. The only clue is what former professor of Quranic Interpretations at Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, Omar Abdel Rahman, points out that "There is no surah called 'Peace.' Jihad and killing are the head of Islam. If you take them out, you cut off the head of Islam." (p.24, "Islam and Terrorism" [2002] by Mark A. Gabriel, Ph
Israel your house is on fire. Hate and racism rule this party and it seems to be sweeping the nation! The last rise of "brown shirts" were purged but highly unlikely in the "new" Israel. Israel is no longer a true democracy ruled by democrats and the rule of law. These men rule by fear and intimidation and law is no more than making "legal illegalities" seem good and justified!.....who will be the next targeted assasination ala Rabin....Peace Ever?
In fact, Pastor James Manning best described the problem in his interview with Howard Stern in Youtube at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdpdduAm46o&feature=related
Brod; How ridiculous is your statement that the US supports the islamist jihadist and gives them billions of dollars. Your head is buried in the sand of hatred....The only one that is taking billions of dollars is Israel...We be better off to invest the money in our economy than given it to a Country to kill and still land in the name of God Given Right.... Israel agenda is clear, it's next target is Iran and wants the US to do the dirty work just like Iraq..But I hope that we will never see idiots like the Bush administration in the White House again who is so eager to please the world's most racist and oppressive country
Ms. Kohn, Mr. Obama, is famously taciturn. The right wing constantly berates him for saying to little. Apparently he sees no need to air dirty laundry in public. Mr. Obama has not and never would insult the Israeli PM in public. I don't know what he has said in private. More world leaders should learn to hold their tongues. The US would have been well served if Cheney/Bush had that ability. Bibi is usually similarly circumspect. Count your blessings that the village idiot Lieberman is not PM. He appears to have no misgivings whatever about insulting anyone. Peace Stephen
America does not need Arab Islamist-Jihadist oil. America has more oil reserves in Alaska and the rest of N. America than any country in the Middle East. Only those who have been corrupted by Middle East oil would continue peddling Arab oil. Why help fund Islamist-Jihadist terrorism around the world through the $700 billion petrodollars that America pours into the Arab Islamist-Jihadist states' coffers annually?
"I fear Bibi is beginning to betray his people in rolling over for Obama." Israel's boundary was fixed by the armistice agreement with Jordan in 1967 (the Green Line). Bibi knows that there is only one way he can legitimately acquire more territory outside Israael's present established boundaries. And that is by negotiating a trade agreement with PLO. Everything he does is aimed at getting that agreement signed. Bibi is betraying his people by pursuing a course designed to force that agreement whether PLO likes it or not. Such coercive tactics only aggravate the disharmony that already exists. He does not work for peace. He works for gain. What he is doing is transparent; and by pursuing this course, Bibi is losing support. Obama is pushing for him to change his tactics, to be honest about his intentions. But Bibi wants the world to believe that he is workng for peace. It is a lie. And the world knows it. Bibi will not last much longer.
You do not sound like an American at all. Patriotic Americans support Israel as America's only reliable friend and Ally in the region. You sound more like an Islamist-Jihadist Trojan Horse spewing the typical craps of Islamist-Jihadists.
Obama is good for Israel? You sound more like Judas!
I am sorry for people that cannot see. People like these "Likudniks" that will not see are themselves sorry. For these Likudniks who particularly value the concept of "Jewish State" a settlement Freeze and thus a two state solution is the ONLY solution to their problem. If there is no freeze then there will be no two state solution but to their dismay, there will be no forced transfer or expulsion. There will be no Palestinian "March of Tears." Such things are defined as "Crimes against Humanity." The majority of Israelis will not stand for such villainy in the name of their beloved state. These Likudniks will have their "demographic bomb" at any cost. Perhaps when their short sighted choices put them once again into a minority in their own nation they will finally agree to open their eyes. They are like the Three Stooges -- "Hey Moe, Hey Larry, I can't see. I can't see..." Peace Stephen
thanks Ehud Barak for demolishing the leftist myth that the "settlements" are a financial burden on Israel. After all, if this were true, there would be no need to enforce the moratorium on building within the settlements with government officials. All that would be needed would be to cut off the supposedly massive government funding and the projects would stop on their own. Barak knows that if he didn't invest one shekel in Judea and Samaria but instead lifted all the controls and limitations on building, simple economics and private funding would double or triple the Jewish population of Judea and Samaria within a year or two. The only way for him to stop this growth is through the use of thugs who will use physical force to stop people from building.
Bibi will not last much longer.
better support pluto or donald duck philiptheyve got a better chance !
Obama is the best President for the Jews. Before his term is up he will have unwittingly stimulated a mass Aliyah of Jews to Eretz Yisrael
than Olmert's or Sharons. If Bibi abandons his long held principles and follows Obama then he too will be the worst leader Israel ever had ! Note: I do not include Livni as a leader. She never had any leadership qualities ! I fear Bibi is beginning to betray his people in rolling over for Obama. If so then AMEN to his leadership !
What remains is due primarily to the fact that the U.S. media does not cover internal Israeli events and most U.S. citizens do not read Israeli newspapers. Most U.S. citizens, both Jewish and non-Jewish, are not aware of the rampant segregation, discrimination and lack of minority civil rights in Israel or its occupied territories. The demographically, U.S. is rapidly becoming a "majority minority" country that values full racial, religious and ethnic integration and diversity. The U.S. and Israel do not share common values. It is in the best interest of Israel to make peace now, because U.S. support for Israel is likely to decrease over time.
He vowed to topple Hamas the next time they pull a stunt in Gaza, unlike Olmert who just thought weakening military capabilities saves the day. however IOf Bibi does get the chance to topple Hamas after they do something stupid, he has done his job,can retire Shimon Peres can become PM and we can talk serious business with the Arabs. The root of the problem in the peace process are the extremists of both sides get rid of these nutjobs then everything will hopefully fall into place, and going as far as directly insulting Obama is not just stupid but seriously untactful.
"Why don`t you talk about the $700 billion petrodollars that the America gives annually to the Arab Islamist-Jihadist countries in the Middle East only to see them channel those funds to Islamist-Jihadist terrorist organizations around the world including the Taliban and Al Queda." 1) Strange, you don't like cheap oil? 2) Which countries would they be?
Brod, the billions you are talking about are not paid by the USA governement but by you everytime you buy petrol to your car or to heat your house. A lot of my friends are american and they are the nicest people I have seen. you and a few next to you are just an exception. If your not happy, you can walk.
The Palestinians around them?? Obama??? Or those who created that situation (since 1977)...
"You`re mistaken, Jim #56, fanatics will hold onto their seats come what may... they`ve never had it so good before." Perhaps, for a while yet. Do you think the fanatics of Islam will also hold out come what may? Fanaticism is always with us. But fanatics come and go as conditions change. I see Netanyahu's government making more and more mistakes, achieving less and less, and losing support, right and left, particularly in the international community. I do not think he will last much longer. Even fanatics require support from more than their own ilk. Bibi is a loser. But is he really a fanatic, or just a hard headed idiot? We'll see Regards
Obama may not be a great friend of Israel but he is certainly no enemy. For supposedly intelligent people to state such garbage does Israel a great disservice and alienates brothers, sisters and friends around the world!
Me: "I think Obama should pay attention to...the will of the American people and the House of Representatives when it comes to Middle East policy." Hugh: Um, I hate to break it to you, but those are two very different things--at least outside your bubble world. I love to break it to you, but the House of Representatives represents the will of the American people. Maybe not in your bubble head. In the real world, BOTH are more supportive of Israel than the Obama administration.
There maybe record building under this so called freeze, it is mainly smoke and mirrors but it could stop or slow down foreign Jews from coming to Israel. The foreign Jews have been the strongest driving force in the settlements with Religious groups and Israeli seeking low cost of living making up the rest. Make the cost of living higher in settlements than in Israel proper then most the building would stop.
some of those countries have oil, some do not. those that do, have made very handsome profits. they do not give oil for free. those countries also depend on the u.s. and the uk for their defence. many of those countries also have citizens who have actively supported terror against the u.s. and the entire west.
....in order to make Netanyahu look like a moderate and acceptable right-winger for the International community, and even more so for the (rather gullible) American TV audience. This is simply Israeli political show at its best (or rather worst)...:)
turning Obama/America into your enemy---and bingo. Please keep up the insults and inuendo---get the whole GI involved. Please===please.
you have neither shame, nor understanding.
"These 'right wing extremist Likudniks' happen to represent the majority of Israelis and American Jews." (flyingdoc57) The dimwit's argument: "The majority is on my side. Therefore I am right."
"Ben-Gvir said in response: 'Whoever voted in favor of strangling the settlements will not be surprised that people want to protest against him.' " I voted in favor of summoning our settlers back to Israel, and I am not at all surprised that followers of Meir Kahana want to protest against me. It buttresses my opinion that I did the right thing.
They are waking up in Israel, too, though Bibi's government doesn't see it yet.
"America owes Israel billions of dollars for protecting America`s national security interests in the region." WHAT? If anyone in the ME has protected American interest, it is Turkey (the air base at Incirlik), not Israel. What has Israel ever done for us? And just what "national security interests" are you talking about? America would serve its own security interest best by getting its armed forces the hell out of Asia altogether. The only interest we serve there is the financial welfare of the military industrial complex.
The clear majority of American and Israeli Jews support a two state solution. I support my president on the settlement freeze. I am Jewish and a Zionist. Now if Pres. Obama can turn our economy around and get us a decent national health plan -- all the better.
This is a dangerously delusional government with a largely delusional electorate. As if that was'nt bad enough, jewish religious leadership (orthodox) - with the exception of Oz ve Shalom, the likes of R' Melchior and the non orthodox- are also delusional. We will be made to pay dearly for this attitude.
... come what may... they've never had it so good before...
USA is no longer the superpower once it was. #16 David says " we are better off supporting Iran" You know how pathetic you sound. USA should stay out of Israel's affairs. We don't want your money, we don't want your arms and we certainly don't need your help at the UN. Every empire eventually crumbles and the USA is on the decline and in 25 years it will be no more.
Obama is a disaster for Israel. A free talker, who gropes his way through. What a find: No leadership experience, no financial experience, no organizational experience, he lives in a world of his own narcissism, with an unscupulous willingness to lie to win. He has and overriding need to make good for his Muslim brethren, that is his heartfelt agenda, his passion. Take note the theme of his speech to the Arab world, take him on his word. He cares not a genuine whit for Israel and the Jews, and this is now proving true, the colours are coming out in the wash. Israel must NOT budge, we have gone it alone before. Obama is a big traitor to our people and history will judge him so. The American Jews are waking up.

We palestinians wish that the majority of american feel the way you feel about human rights and justice. the american taxpayer and citizen has been ripped off by apartheid israel for decades and it is sure nice to see americans waking up to this reality! Keep up the great work and spread the word !!
I understand if people are upset and offended by this protest. I find the comments made by these Likud members absolutely disgusting. Nevertheless, people should not make the mistake of extrapolating their behavior to all Israelis, and thereby advocate for the U.S. to stop supporting Israel as a result. The fact is that it is a Likud-led government that announced this settlement freeze. This freeze was supported by an overwhelming majority of the Israeli cabinet. So, I think this shows that this government is in fact quite moderate and is seeking a peace agreement with the Palestinians. Given that this government was elected by the Israeli people, this also shows where Israel as a whole stands politically. This protest was likely led by very low-level members in the Likud, who basically rode the coattails of the party leadership into power (which can occur due to the list-based system of voting here). In short, this protest is utterly meaningless.
We need Obama, and we need him badly. Left to ourselves we will never resolve our problems with our neighbors and will march ever onward toward a one-state solution. And, in the meantime, we will become ever more isolated in the world. The right-wing and the religeous will accomplish nothing. The real question is whether Obama cares enough about us to take decisive action to force us and our neighbors into permanent agreements.
obama is very similar to jimmy carter in that he seeks a real peace between israel and palestine based on real justice and equality. israelis better wise up and support obama. otherwise they are doomed to even greater catastrophic losses down the road. apartheid and racism are both definitely coming to an end. its just a matter of time. mandela, tutu, and ghandi's grandson should all come to palestine tomorrow and declare war on israeli apartheid in front of the whole world!
We, Americans, stuck up to the whole world and made a farce of ourselves supporting you in the UN despite our inside belief that you are robbing the rest of the world in general and the Palestinians in particular. We gave you over 150$ billions and were subject to the wrath of the islamists in 9/11. And now you want to rob our celebration because we came of age and voted a black American to the highest office in the nation. We have voted him because we want change and change will start with friends and the way we view the world and the US 's place amongst nations. Shame on you.
In his "Phenomenologie des Geistes", Hegel considers an underdeveloped stage of the dialectic of spirit, and characterizes it as the stage in which the mind turns into a bone. It is as if he foresaw the sacrificium intellectus that the right-wing in Israel is merrily engaged in. None of us has a crystal ball, but I am afraid that, if left to their own devices, the Greater Israel fanatics pose the greatest existential threat to the very people, namely the Jewish people simpliciter, that they claim to be representing.
this extremist and racist israeli apartheid government had better listen very carefully to what america tells them or else they will pay a very heavy price politically, economically, and even militarily. israel could not survive 24 hours without the good ole american taxpayer behind them. the unlimited US welfare checks need to stop and the west bank and east jerusalem need to be returned to the palestinian people now!
"The Likudniks should also reject all financial aid and weapons given by the U.S. to Israel." Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Utterly disgusted is not the only utterly disgusted USA citizen who is utterly disgusted at Israel tapping our financial resources she can prey upon her neighbors at a lower cost to her own treasury! Stop making weapons to distribute to other nations, start keeping them for yourselves! And stop bleeding the USA for your warmongering IDF/schuzstaffe.
Olim who seek to reside in occupied territory are exacerbating an already tense situation. The state of Israel has every right exist within the borders defined at the establishment of her statehood in 1947. Israel has every right to police those original borders as she sees fit. Israel has no right to permanent settlement within the UN defined borders of the state of Palestine. Israel has the obligation to cease all provocations and recognize Palestine's right to exist. Palestine also has the obligation to cease all provocations and recognize Israel's right to exist. These things in no particular order, and only then, may both states be recognized as responsible members of the global community.
Netanyahu's coalition has been weak and shaky from the start. I gave it a year before it began to fall apart. Looks like I was not far off. As for the left disappearing, I wouldn't count on it if I were you. Just think. A year ago no one would have dared march against the Haredi. But yesterday they did. The old men who have run your government for so long are on thir way out.
You sit back and Monday morning quarterback every move of your brothers and sisters that have obeyed G-d and returned to the promised land. You have no plans to return. Even if going there improved conditions and brought about peace. You would rather sit back and watch your people be destroyed. You are no help and Obama isn't either. Shame on all of you.
Most recently, they did it with Judge Richard Goldstone, malign and attack the character of the individual who have more integrity in their little finger than the pack of these likudniks put together. They love to attack and malign and point fingers, but never at themselves. They are always the ones being unfairly attacked and they are pure and right. The world is sick to their stomach of the hypocarcy, the deceit and the smug self righteousness of these insulters to the US. Cut them off and stop buying their products and answer their likud aganets in this country who continue their zionist campaign of lies and deceit. Enough is enough with this pariaih state. Either they met their obligations and the demands of international law or treat them like Iran. They are no better. At least Iran is honest enough not to play themselves as an ally of the US.
... freely choosing the government that we have...
... for Americans, and only then for all the rest... so it must be...
These same circles were responsible for maligning the president during the presidential campaign and their insults to him continue. Yet we bankroll these loudmouth rightists who pride them selves in spitting in the face of their brenefactors. One can only hope Obama has the dignity and courage to stand up to these odious demagogues and tell them that not a penny of our taxpayer dollars will continue to be spent on these illegal colonies that continue to grow like noxious weeds. The arrogange and smug self righteous of these ingrates turns the stomachs of all fair minded people around the world.
You do not seem to know history. America has been battling with Islamist-Jihadist terrorists since the time of Thomas Jefferson. In the 1800s, America's gunships protected European merchants plying the Straits of Malacca and South China Sea against Islamist-Jihadist thugs. General Pershing and his troops battled against Islamist-Jihadist terrorists in Southern Philippines in the early 1900s. In addition to the $700 billion petrodollars, America gives billions of dollars to Arab Islamist-Jihadist states in the region for nothing. Ironically, the petrodollars are being used by the Arab Islamist-Jihadist countries to fuel the Middle East conflict and sponsor Islamist-Jihadist terrorism around the world including the Taliban, Al Queda, the Islamist-Jihadist Malays in Southern Thailand, the Islamist-Jihadist Moros in Southern Philippines, Islamist-Jihadist terrorists in Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Europe, Russia, Africa and N.America.
there is no doubt that obama has made many mistakes in his short dealings with israel. however, it is not acceptable to insult the u.s. president, even if the u.s. president sees it fit to insult the prime minister of israel.
"I think Obama should pay attention to...the will of the American people and the House of Representatives [AIPAC] when it comes to Middle East policy." Um, I hate to break it to you, but those are two very different things--at least outside your bubble world.
Obama can't be an exception. In their history the Jews were very close & perhaps the darlings of the British Empire mainly during WW1. When the Jewish state started to build itself, in the days of WWI, the same British Empire under the leadership of Winston Churchill; who used to call himself Zionist, refused to accept Jews who escape the Nazi regime in Europe to be allowed to enter Palestine ! A reality that neither the Jews nor Israel must forget. Thousands of lives would have been saved. Jews must look after themselves. No friendship last forever. Our future & the future of Israel is only in our own hands. It was so from time immemorial & it must remain so for time everlasting !
"America owes Israel billions of dollars for protecting America`s national security interests in the region. America and Israel face a common enemy-Islamist-Jihadism!" America didn't have a Middle East security problem until it became involved with Israel. America owes Israel?
"Why don`t you talk about the $700 billion petrodollars that the America gives annually to the Arab Islamist-Jihadist countries in the Middle East." At least from those countries, the US gets oil for its money. From Israel, it gets only grief, and demands for more. Once again, the world's most ungrateful ally demonstrates its character.
If the Likudniks want to drive a wedge between American Jews and Israel then this is the way. Many of us have supported Israel with money and through letter writing campaigns to Congress and the President and our support has been almost unconditional. However this group of self righteous hypocritical fools may just push us away.
"Some ofObama`s best friends are Jews" - howiej the bigot I don't know about his best friends, but his Chief of Staff is both Jewish and Israeli. You, not Obama, is the bigot howiej.
we wont miss you
Arabs and Jews think he has no idea Blunder after Blunder
...limor is totally on...obama, must myob.
I never liked the Likud, they could never get over the Galut. They think the whole world is against them and the walls of their shtetl will protect them. If everybody who tells you "no" is your enemy, then you're a spoiled child. I don't know why the Israeli government has to give money to settlers to build these settlements while cutting back on social subsidies and the like. It's all politics and why should the US back up what's really not going to stand up to long term international law/pressure.
Easy conventional wisdom may see it as a sign of him doing things "right". I disagree. I think he is detatched from the reality of the ground, and worse, detatched from the gut justness of the Jewish state. Zionism started half a century prior to the Holocaust, and uninterrupted Jewish presence in the Holy Land dates back to before Christianity and Islam, some 3500 years ago. Throughout exile Jews prayed and travelled to the land that saw us born and develop to kingdoms of David and Salomon, to the prophets and Maccabees, to the cruel Roman oppression and brutal war against us until exile. Arabs resent Obama or some of its leading hot-headed terrorist leaders, Nasrallah, Ahmadinejad, Haniyyeh, Assad, say Obama hasn't added anything. Why?
If Obama were to run for President today he would get far, far less than the 75% he got. Pres. Obama hides behind his "Show Jews" and his supporters state how close he is to these men. I'm sure that some of his best friends are Jews. If Israel depends on the support of this administration for their survival, it should prepay for the funeral today. It is the height of kindness to call Obama naive. It is good that there are a few government members in Israel that speak what the people are thinking.
"ms. livnat, worry about your own govt first before you start blasting mine..." American Jew, isn't Obama worrying about Israel's government and blasting it before any Israeli did the same to him? Duh.
How about the reverse? What if Israel stopped training US Marines in desert warfare, or denied the US Navy use of the Port of Haifa? What if Israel did not share it's military technology, such as drone aircraft? What if Israel did not support the US at the UN? What if Israel stopped sharing intelegence? Remember at one point in the Iraq war when our troops began to run out of bullets? It was a bit of an embarrasment for the military, but the only place they could put in an emergency order was to Israel. It is a two way street, and the US gets its money's worth.
"The nerve! America spends BILLIONS and puts its credibility on the line to defend Israel for 50 years, and this is how it is repaid?" Yeah -- the nerve. Obama acts one way while he's campaigning, then blunders on his Middle East policy. "I think the US needs to start considering dropping Israel." I think Obama should pay attention to previous American policy as well as the will of the American people and the House of Representatives when it comes to Middle East policy.
Actually, the Netanyahu government has been working with the Obama administration to work out a compromise. It is Abbas who continues to say no to everying, even to the extent of showing great disrespect for the President. Do you see weeks ago when Abbas was standing next to Obama and the President stated there will be talks with no preconditions? Then less than a week later Abbas say there will be no talks. Obviously an attempt to embarrass Obama.
Do you have anything to back up your claim? From what I have seen, most American Jews are against Israel making any concessions when they get nothing in return -- regardless of what J Street would have us believe.
The fact of the matter is that Israeli hardliners have a solid majority of the american people behind them, whether Obama likes it or not. Why is this so??? As a non-hypenated American (not jewish, not arab, not black, not hispanic, not moslem, not even much of a christian), the israeli right has my backing, not because I particularly like israelis or jews, but simply because I don't like the enemies of Israel. Like many americans, I still have a screen saver on my computer showing palestinian mobs celebrating the 9/11 attacks. I will never forget the mobs of iranians yelling "death to America, death to Israel" outside the destroyed american embassy. I could go on for many paragraphs, but the conclusion is obvious. Israel is very fortunate in having such repugnant enemies.
This stuff is pretty mild compared to what I have read in the Arab press.
Livnat spoke the truth. And the truth hurts. There is no point spewing sarcasm. Israel is not a welfare state. So, don't talk about the "hands that feed you." Under the Obama administration, America can't even feed its own people with its worsening economy, increasing joblessness and homelessness. America is floating on borrowed money from China.
Pull out of every inch of the West Bank; internationalize Jerusalem. Good enough in 1948; good enough now. Otherwise, kiss goodbye to 3 billion a year of us taxpayer dollars. we can use the money at home.
ms. livnat, worry about your own govt first before you start blasting mine... We have, and will, have your back, dont criticize the hand that feeds...
Never has a president entered office with so much hope and good will and never in history has one managed to squander it so rapidly. Obama's popularity has plummeted among U.S. voters and is now below 50% (even less among independents who were important constituents helping to elect him). Watching Obama strut around the world stage embarrassing America and the free world, weakening our friends and encouraging our enemies has convinced many that this man is in way over his head. During the campaign Obama told us that the issue of abortion was "above his pay grade." Now many are learning that, as a corollary, the entire job of president of the U.S. is "above his pay grade." Wish many of us had been warned sooner.
and if you beleive in the Israeli state based on UN resolution to split the land on 1948 or 47 and not the 1967 offer. you beleive in Laws. Mr. Obama was elected bu USA citizen who are paying for your security, all the USA Presidents were against your illegal policies of settelment illegaly in occupied Land while asking the American to go invade more in your name it is not going to work, you must obey the UN resolution where you will get the border of 1947 forget about 1967 it is not fear to the American friendship and system of beleive, not fear to UN international passed resolution and not fear to any simple person By the name of your God, keep doing wrong you will not make it right for yourself Peace and respect
"75% of American Jews voted for Obama...And he is still popular among them." This is a common misconception. 75% of American Jews (actually closer to 80%) voted for the DEMOCRATIC candidate. While that happened to be Obama, these same people would have voted for McCain (or, for that matter, Adolf Hitler) if he/they ran on the Democratic ticket. American jews, by and large, vote Democratic, with no consideration whatsoever as to who the candidate is. "These right wing extremist Likudniks are as representative of Jews as Al Qaeda is of Muslims." These "right wing extremist Likudniks" happen to represent the majority of Israelis and American Jews. That is why these "extremist Likudniks" voted Likud into power. "It`s about time the US realized that the interests of our two countries are diverging. We really don`t have much in common." Think again. The U.S. has more in common with Israel than with any other Country in the M.E. Israel is the only true democracy in the M.E.
this just shows americans how civilised israel is, more and more are waking up.
Patriotic Americans do not agree with your crap. In fact, patriotic Americans support Israel as America's only reliable friend and Ally in the region.
Your knowledge of history of the region is zero. The fact is Judea and Samaria are Israel's liberated historic homeland whose history goes back 4000 years. The Islamist-Jihadists were marauders, usurpers and occupiers who came from Arabia in the 7th century.
You should advise the Obama administration to stop wasting tax payers' money by giving billions of dollars to the Arab Islamist-Jihadist states in the Middle East annually. Don't just preach to Israel. America owes Israel billions of dollars for protecting America's national security interests in the region. America and Israel face a common enemy-Islamist-Jihadism!
Advancing peace? On the contrary, it is more obsessed in crusading Jihadism on Israel than peace.
The nerve! America spends BILLIONS and puts its credibility on the line to defend Israel for 50 years, and this is how it is repaid? When we ask for a settlement freeze? Doesn't Israel also already "freeze" Palestinian rights to re-settle Israel? I think the US needs to start considering dropping Israel. The US should defend Israel's right to exist, as a Jewish state, and have Jewish immigration. The US should NOT destroy its credibility to defend Israel's "right" to kick Arabs off their land. Israeli independence is defended with over a dozen US Nimitz class aircraft carriers, billions in US aid and technology, and the annual sacrifice of American legitimacy in front of the Islamic world. Israel has this favoured position, the US claims, because it is the only modern, Western democracy in the Middle East. Perhaps it should learn to act like a modern, Western democracy?
What money are you talking about? Why don't you talk about the $700 billion petrodollars that the America gives annually to the Arab Islamist-Jihadist countries in the Middle East only to see them channel those funds to Islamist-Jihadist terrorist organizations around the world including the Taliban and Al Queda. America's number one enemy is Islamist-Jihadism. Israel is America's friend and Ally in this battle. Obama may have his personal agenda which may be in conflict with America's national security interests.
Dont bite the hand that feeds you.
the muslims have iran, the jews now have israel - god save us all. they should now unite against obama.
We(USA) should stop all support for this government for the level of disrespect they harbor towards our President. There will never be peace with people like this dictating policy. We'd be better off supporting Iran. With friends like these, who needs enemies. Let's see how far you get with your ILLEGAL(yes they are illegal) settlements with out our BILLIONS USD in aid.
stop taking our money.
President Obama for dealing with the insane views of the likes of Naim, Rahman and Livnat as he has. No thinking person would support them - only the Jewish mullahs who are currently at the helm of the Israeli Titanic would even try. Most Americans just sit in wide-mouthed amazement as they watch Israelis let these fools run their country hard aground.
Without any doubt this is the worst government this country has had the misfortune to have. This bunch of absolute deniers are creating such isolation for us, whilst proving they are a joke of party in power. What former Chief of Staff who became a government minister walked away from facing down fundamentalist settlers before? Its not enough that the US President faces red-neck racism in his own country, he has to hear it from here too? This prejudices our US relations, the grants in aid we get for our armed forces, our credibility. It would be funny if Netanyahu?s actually going to freeze settlement construction, but its clear its another lie.
The comments of Likudniks against Barack Obama are ludicrous. Neither the President nor the members of his Administration are "enemies of the Jews" or of Israel. He and his team are doing their best to facilitate negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, an effort that we all hope will lead to peace and save the lives of many people on both sides. As I am sure is well-known, President Obama has senior level advisers who are Jews and who are demonstrably sympathetic to Israel. But neither he nor they are crazy. Israel can't continue building settlements on the West Bank and hope to achieve peace. And the reason they can't do this is exactly the same reason that we Americans can't cross the border into Canada or Mexico and build settlements there without the permission of the governments of those countries.
The Israeli's....When there is an administration in the white house that is interested in advancing the peace, they start whining...They only want an evangelical idiot like Bush so that they can continue robbing the Palestinians' land and drag America into unnecessary war to advance their cause at the expense of others.......Grow up, the world is fed up of your cry baby behavior
given by the U.S. to Israel. They should also reject any U.S. vetoes of U.N. Security Council resolutions against Israel.
The Right is ready for new elections now. Cowards are afraid to face the people in a vote. The Left is going to disappear after this fight.
don't call us, we'll call you. Please return our long rang range radars, our military assistance money and... go build your own military aircraft. In addition, renounce the US portion of your dual citizenship and/or tear up your US tourist/economic-transient visa. There is no need to darken our shores.
I suppose America was enemy of the Serbia when it said no to ethnic cleansing of Bosnians and taking land. I guess you can say Obama opposes the Israeli Government's annexation of land. However, it's not the enemy of the Jews, because some of Obama's good friends are Jewish Americans. The United States is a Security Council member. International clearly says building settlements is illegal. Israel is a member of the U.N. It's supposed to adhere to international law. It rings so hollow when right wing politicians who ethnic cleanse, demolish homes, allow pogroms to happen to Palestinians can lecture anyone about hatred. They should take a look in the mirror. I wouldn't accept a lecture about morality from Israeli politicians or Hamas politicians. They are morally bankrupt. I am just floored that these people think it's okay to seize land from Palestinian families and build there and ghettoize Palestinians and then speak of hatred? They need to wake up.
And he is still popular among them. These right wing extremist Likudniks are as representative of Jews as Al Qaeda is of Muslims. It's about time the US realized that the interests of our two countries are diverging. We really don't have much in common.
I am sure that the morons who refer to our American president as "enemy of the Jews" do not expect him to continue to stand alone among the nations of the world in support of Israel with vetoes at the UN and continued flow of financial and military support.
Israeli politicians should be judicious in the language they use about President Obama. Calling Obama an "enemy of the Jews" may play well in Likud circles in Israel, but it undermines political support for Israel in Washington, DC. This name calling makes Likud politicians seem like unreasonable hotheads in the view of powerful Americans who are sympathetic to Israel. Obama has filled some of the most important White House staff positions with Jews: Rahm Emmanuel, David Axelrod, and Larry Summers. There is no evidence whatsoever that Obama is an "enemy of the Jews." Rather, Obama shares the views of left-wing Zionists in believing that it is in Israel's own interest to agree to a two-state solution and to withdraw from Jewish settlements that are in areas heavily populated by hostile Palestinians. Likudniks are free to disagree with Obama on this issue, but they should do so in a way that does not alienate Americans who are fundamentally on Israel's side.
I think Obama has been very patient with the Israeli government considering it's utter comtempt for Israel's biggest backer. Letting the religious nuts run your country will bring you down the same path as Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. Separate church and state it's the only way.
Trying to get to Obama by scaring his people into thinking his Jewish supporters will desert him over the settlements issue is dumb. Most American Jews do not support the settlements (except to the extent they are in Jerusalem proper and subject to a like-kind land exchange as part of a treaty).
It's time for tough love.
Under the ineffective wing of Obama, the right with Likud at the head, is leading us all into miserble years of coercion and worse against the underdog Pals... there will be no happy-endings for anyone...
