Lieberman: Diplomacy over Iran nuclear threat must be limited

Israels own champagne charlie! His rhettorical threats should be an embarrassment,but his hard core backers love it and wish he would actually invade Iran......be very carefull what you wish for it could turn into a nightmare.....PEACE EVER?

Why? Because Iran already threatened Israel by both declaring war on Israel and pronouncing genocide on Israel. Therefore, the State of Israel has every right to defend itself against such atrocity. And it would probably be welcomed by Iranians at this time since many of them are quite angry with their regime's stealing their votes, and will only be too eager to blame their gov't for any such invited attacks. They asked for it!

All the people posting here have so many agendas and prejuduces. The only question is whether Iran is responsible enough to have nuclear weapons. They have repeatedly said that they want Israel destroyed along with all Jews, worldwide, not just Israel. What would happen if Russia threatened to destroy the USA? If they said they wanted all Americans dead? WWIII would start shortly. The same principle here. If Iran attacks Israel, WWIII will start. Treaties have been signed to protect Israel and those countries will have to come to her defense. Now, has Israel threatened to destroy Iran? Not hardly! All of you posting here in favor of Iran and the terrorists, know this. They will destory America & Europe with nukes if they have a chance. Would cause numerous 9/11's all over the world & probably in your country! Remember, all Islamics (Arabs) think the USA is the Great Satan and Israel the little satan. They want worldwide Sharia Law. He is saying that Iran should be given only a limited amount of time to agree to bow to the demands of her opponents. And if they don't......? Lieberman won't say. He leaves it simply floating in mid-air. Guys, Gals, he is saying that Iran should be given only a limited time to fold, and if they don't fold then they should be attacked. That's a war of choice, not a war that is forced upon you. In such a war ISRAEL will be the aggressors, and IRAN will be the defenders. Remember what you all keep claiming about a nation who gains territory following a defensive war? If Israel does start this war it had better not lose, coz it'll have no excuses.....

Israeli leaders seem not to understand that there is a growing divergence between their view and the rest of the world. While Lieberman tries to say that the world will end if Iran gets nuclear weapons, the rest of the world sees facts: - UN sanctions will not happen, mainly because of China - The leaders of Iran are realistic, like the leaders of all countries - Iran getting nuclear weapons will result in a policy of Mutually Assured Destruction with Israel. So the discussion must shift to other topics, mainly peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

OK, so we should talk for a short time, then, if Iran doesn't cave, let's bomb the bejesus out of them. Preferably, the US should do it, so Israel doesn't become an immediate retaliatory target, but I guess it will because Israel always suffers more than anyone else. Why don't the Palestinians understand that it is the Israelis, not the Palestinians who are suffering the most. Taking food away from a starving palestinian is just a little more suffering; but taking away a luxury apartment from a settler, is truly awful.

If Israel wants a war, it will have to start it. And given the situation in Afghanistan, it will have to end it - alone.

This hoodlum and his illegitimate state are in violation of most international laws and have the audacity to ask the international community to stop Iran from exposing this Apartheid, criminal, and illegal state of Israel.

Iran has not signed the Addional Protocol, so it is in its right not to abide with that. By a similar logic, Israel has not signed the NPT, so they are allowed to have nuclear weapons. You can't have it both ways. If Israel is not bound by treaties it did not sign, neither is Iran.

sideline. I analysed the visit ofr FM Lieberman very carefull, because my longtime colleague Michael Spindelegger is now FM of Austria. He has a long experience in UN and EU affairs If you read what Spindeleggert said and what Lieberman tried to communicate ...? The one talk about apple trees the other about olives. Austria is a friendly country and forced by history to have pro-israel stance. But this guy cannot to that with other nations. Austria is UNSC Member and exactly in this moment the IS UN Ambassador made statements, no peace negotiations The old story, Israel will find any time anywhere an excuse not to negotiate. In the biggest austrian forum the people more and more frustrated about the obvious obstruction. Michael Spindelegger said it right - bring it on the table. No sign.

Endless discussion will leed to nothing - except a nuclear armed Iran.

fact of the matter is it will be the Five plus one who will decide how Iran will be dealt with. All Lieberman can do is cheer or boo from the sidelines, in Austria. In fact that is all Netanyahu can do as well, as the bluff that was Israel attacking Iran was found, well, to be a bluff. And without Russia and China's assent then there will be no sanctions, probably no military attack either. Israel had best get used to the idea of a nuclear Iran. The foreign minister added that Israel is using diplomacy to drag out negotiations over the peace process, and accused Israel of having no intention of reaching an agreement.

Who is Liberman to be telling the world what to do? Is Israel now trying to rule the entire universe? It is time that it adhers to international law, ends the occupation and withdraws to the Green Line. That is what the world wants! If Iran is attacked, then it should by Israel alone, and Israel alone will bear the total responsibility for the outcome.

Israel will no doubt put "their" time limit on Iran and rightly so.Wait for the World and Russia and Iran will have it's nukes, missile delivery systems, anti missile missile systems and "boom"

Is waiting for Israel to comply with International community commitment concerning nuclear non-proliferation.
