Lebanon source: Israel working with Islamists to hurt Hezbollah

Forget about Lebanon. It doesn't exist anymore. It's an Iranian protectorate bordring with Iran via Syria, with Turkey as a land connection and Latakia as its sea connection. Djumblat and Maronites, Druse and Sunnis should either pack and emmigrate or fight Hezballah to the bitter end. But Lebanese prefer salling than their freedom and their country.

Israel created a monster called Hamas because PLO was its arch enemy back in the 70s and 80s. Well look what happened now. Also USA did help and work with the 'Taleban' to hurt and defeat the Soviet back then in Afghanistan. Remember? Well USA also created a monster which turned against it.

The worst thing about this story is it's plausibility, not it's probability of being true. Would the nation which fostered Hamas as a threat to Fatah be stupid enough to aid Al-Fatah al-Islam, an al-Qaeda affiliate? I hope not. I think not. But given the slow learning curve of Israel in recent decades, it is not something that can be disregarded entirely. Look how long it took Uncle Sam and Saudi to understand that their brainchild Al-Qaeda, was a big mistake.

let's be honest, this IS possible. how would israel benefit? : 1) since it was not able to completely defeat hezbollah during the july 2006 war, and since it now seems that both sides can't afford the war (hassan nasrallah said in a speech 8 months ago : "if the zionist army decides to attack us, god forbid, our response will be even more powerful"), the best way for israel to defeat its nothern neighbour is from the inside, by amplifying the sunni-chiite internal conflict 2) one must say that the katyushas aren't causing much harm to israel, who is somehow benefiting from their firing : israel maintains its victim position throughout the international media, hezbollah, who completely denies the recurrent attacks, is seen more and more as a terrorist organisation 3) it was recently discovered the fatah al islam was created by the sunni LEBANESE, and more precisely by the hariri family, to face the growing chiite lebanese threat (don't forget, sunnis and chiites continue to clash

Afterall a major problem for Israel is that in Europe in particular the general population does not see Hezbollah as terrorists but as plucky defenders of Lebanon from the fourth most powerful army in the world. This translates to politicians in Europe as votes, so they daren't be seen to be attacking Hezbollah. Hence the engagement of Hezbollah by the European Union. Israel meanwhile is desperate to avoid the two state solution and a war would be handy to put off that so firing a Katyusha that falls harmlessly leaving three missiles to be 'found' coupled with an alleged smuggling operation from Iran to Syria via Hezbollah. Thereby artificially creating a crisis that does not exist a few days before Netanyahu turns up in Washington. Not beyond the realms of possibility. Why not? Germany shot it's own people to provide the pretext to go to war against Poland. It has happened before.

It wouldn't be the first time this stunt was attempted by the financial backers of the fundamentalists. Other than the firing of rockets into Israel to stir things for Hizbullah, other Saudi-based fundamentalists/terrorists were planning to attack Hizbullah a couple of years back but instead, it resulted in the Nahr el Bared war with the army in which about 200 soldiers were killed and over 500 injured. It's these groups that keep trying to bring harm to UNIFIL troops and if Israel is behind these people it's creating its own Bin Ladin that will eventually haunt it. If Israel with all its might was not able to defeat Hizbullah, it's doubtful these terrorists would do any better.
