La Scala resident conductor Daniel Barenboim will lead more than 200 singers and musicians as part of Tel Aviv's 100th birthday celebrations, which began several weeks ago.
The performers include Italian singers Adriana Damato (soprano), Sonia Ganassi (mezzo-soprano) and Giuseppe Filianoti (tenor), as well as German bass René Pape.
The concert will be held on a huge open-air stage, with a backdrop replicating La Scala's Milan opera house, and end with a massive fireworks display.
Opera fans are advised to arrive well before the 9 P.M. kick-off, and bring plenty of drinking water.
