Kiryat Shmona Man Electrocuted While Fishing in Hula Valley

Fishing rod hit high voltage power lines; police detain site owner on suspicion of negligent killing.

A Kiryat Shmona man died of electrocution on Saturday while fishing on an authorized fishing site in the northern Hula Valley.

The man, in his thirties, thrust his fishing rod and accidentally hit high voltage power lines. A Magen David Adom Emergency Services ambulance rushed to the scene and tried, unsuccessfully, to resuscitate the man.

Police detained the owner of the site on suspicion of negligent killing.
