In 1948 the Arabs also declared their borders as being what is Israel pre 1967 and went to war to claim it. Whether the territory within these borders if the Arabs won would have become Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, or Lebanon is anyone's guess....but it surely would not have been PALESTINE. Let's get this straight, once and for all. Shechem is near Nablus, but it is NOT Nablus. How do I know? I was there. My Palestinian room mate decided to do some online research on the history of Nablus. The results were long and interesting. I find it rather hard to believe that that the rocks thrown by Palestinian protesters are any more deadly than a rocks thrown by Israeli protesters such as the Haredi parking lot rioters etc., so unless there was some study that shows that the composition of Palestinian thrown rocks are unique in some way that makes only them life threatening, then the obvious conclusion must be that the green light to shoot rock throwing protesters applies only to Palestinians.

Eckedin, if I had enough room to write, I would have finished my point. Which is that Israel should choose carefully its responses to different events. A boy throwing rocks should be treated differently than Hamas firing rockets. When faced with unarmed protestors, the IDF should not fire at all, even with rubber bullets. Because things like this will happen. But your overall message proved my point. Israel is losing the hearts and minds of the world. You've probably never even been to Israel or Palestine yet you have made up your mind as to who is guilty and who is innocent in the conflict.

These kids have nobody to blame but themselves. Had they made the decision to not incite they would most likely be safe today. Palestinian moms and dads, if you love your children don`t send them out to throw rocks and incite. This is simillar to that idiot Corrie girl who thought she could go up against a Buldozer. See, it's stuff like this that proves Israel has a double standard; the lives of the settlers clearly has more value to Israel, and settlers are also allowed to take freely from Palestinians, while Palestinians are killed when they try to respond.

I am an American-Jew with family in Israel. I support Israel through thick and thin, but I fear that Israel is losing "hearts and minds" in this conflict. Today is March 20 in the US and in major cities across the country there are anti-war protests to mark the anniversary of the war in Iraq. These protestors have several messages in declining order of importance. 1) US out of Iraq. 2) US out if Afghanistan. 3) Free Palestine. How is that has become number 3 on their list? While I do not condone the Israelis for defending themselves, Israelis have to realize there is a proxy war being fought. And it is being fought by your supporters outside of Israel. But every time a headline like this shows up in America, it makes our battle harder and harder. If Israel is going to prevail in this conflict, then it must win the hearts and minds of the rest of the world. You may think, "we don't care what the rest of the world thinks." But you should. It is the only way to peace.
