Israeli travelers say attacked by Arabs in Greek isles
Foreign Ministry checking accuracy of report, according to which youth were robbed and injured in Rhodes.
By Barak Ravid Tags: Israel travel Israel newsThe Foreign Ministry is checking a group of young Israeli travelers' claims that they were attacked by more than a dozen Arabs while on a cruise in the Greek isles.
The travelers said the Arabs began shouting anti-Israel slurs at them as they were docked at Rhodes, before hitting them and robbing some of their personal belongings.
After the incident, the travelers said they returned to their ship to receive medical treatment. Following that, they went back to the shore and quarreled with the Arab group again, then sailed off to their next destination.
The Foreign Ministry said it was checking the report to ensure that the details given by the travelers were accurate. In the past, travelers have made up incident of such quarrels to excuse their tardiness returning to the ship.
