Police investigation reveals however, that this was not another stabbing attack in Jerusalem, but rather a story that the man fabricated for reasons that remain unclear.
The janitor told police that two Palestinian men carrying a knife approached him on the street and tried to stab him. The man picked up a wooden board found nearby and drove them away. Following his report local police scoured the area in attempt to find the attackers.
A Parks Authority inspector on Sunday foiled an attempted stabbing attack near "Yad Avshalom" in East Jerusalem. The inspector noticed a Palestinian approaching him with a knife, apprehended him and called the police. In addition, just last Thursday a Palestinian stabbed and killed 86-year-old Avraham Ozeri in a lethal terror act in Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood and seriously wounded a policeman.
