The recently announced merger with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud has been in the works for the last year, with a final decision reached two months ago Foreign Minister and Yisrael Beiteinu head Avigdor Lieberman said on Friday, rejecting claims that the move was prompted by a fear of a rising center-left bloc.

If this merger will strengthen Israel, it is what is needed. PM Netanyahu must remain in power, though. He is the right man at the right time for Israel
