Despite all the talk of political deals between candidates, Haaretz has found that as in previous years, candidates in the Likud primaries who raised large sums won the top places on the party ticket.

Under laws on the funding of Knesset members and political parties, the number of a party's MK determines the level of its expenditures. For the just-concluded Likud primaries, that number was NIS 500,000 (about $125,000).
