An aircraft belonging to the Chimnir aviation company assisted in the extinguishing of a giant fire that broke out in Cyprus Saturday, adjacent to a British army base.

The plane, which is usually used to spray farm lands, took off for Cyprus Saturday morning in order to help douse the flames after the local Cypriot authorities requested assistance from the Foreign Ministry. The plane was then sent to Cyprus in coordination with the Fire Department commissioner.

Chimnir is a civil aviation company that also helped extinguish fires caused by Katyushot rockets in the Second Lebanon War a year ago.
