A young mother of four in her sixth month of pregnancy was stabbed to death early Sunday morning, allegedly by her husband.

The husband, from the Galilee village of Araba, allegedly stabbed his 29-year-old wife during an argument and fled the scene. Police, who have since arrested the 34-year-old man, say that he has a history of psychiatric problems, although there were never reports of violence towards his family.

Paramedics who arrived on the scene found the 29-year-old woman lying in a pool of blood in the bathroom. Initial police investigations reveal that the woman was stabbed in her back and chest and was left to bleed to death.

A week and a half ago, a 74-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Haifa, also allegedly by her husband. The husband confessed to murdering his wife after an argument over the television, saying "I killed my wife; she made my life miserable."
