The campaign ads for Shas and United Torah Judaism highlight their concern for the poor, but neglect to mention that the two ultra-Orthodox parties were loyal coalition partners who voted against a 2009 proposal by MK Ilan Gilon (Meretz ) to overturn the legal restriction preventing elderly Israelis with disabilities from receiving both disability benefits and old-age benefits.
