More Nurses to Be Trained to Take on Doctors' Duties, Health Ministry Plans

Today 50 clinical nurse specialists are qualified to provide palliative care to terminal patients and end-of-life care to patients in home hospice care and hospital oncology wards.

While the country's nurses struggle for higher wages and better working conditions, the Health Ministry is planning a significant expansion of its clinical nurse specialist training program, whose graduates are authorized to perform many duties that were once the sole province of physicians.
