Israeli treasury balks at striking nurses, but plans massive raise for Ashdod Port workers
Ashdod Port's 1,300 employees earn some of the highest salaries in the country. In 2010 their average annual wage cost was NIS 400,000, more than triple the national average.
Even as the Finance Ministry is refusing to grant substantial raises to striking nurses, it is soon expected to approve a massive raise for workers at Ashdod Port, Haaretz has learned.
