Heavy Fog Causes Flight Delays at Ben-Gurion Aiport

25 Israel-bound flights diverted to Amman, Cairo, Antalya, Rhodes and Cyprus; delays expected to continue throughout the day.

Heavy fog caused numerous flight delays at Ben-Gurion International Airport on Tuesday morning and more than two dozen flights scheduled to land at the airport overnight were diverted to airports in Amman, Cairo, Antalya, Rhodes and Cyprus.

Flight delays are expected to continue throughout the day.

The fog will gradually wear off as the sun rises over the course of the morning.

Ben-Gurion Airport manager Shmuel Kandel told Army Radio that the 25 planes that landed at alternative airports will fly to Israel as soon as the weather conditions permit.

"The matter is being dealt with as quickly as possible," he said.
