First Hebrew Kindergarten From Pre-state Israel Saved From Wrecking Ball

The school, named after Simha Haim Vilkomich, one of its first principals, was the first in Israel where students were taught in Hebrew.

The Rosh Pina building that housed the first Hebrew kindergarten and school in pre-state Israel has been saved from partial demolition, bringing to an end a decade-long struggle over whether the city should be allowed to turn the site into a deluxe guest house.
