Where to get a gas mask in Israel
A gas mask kit can be obtained by either going to one of the Home Front Command's distribution centers, or ordering one via the Israeli Postal Service.
In light of reports of a possible U.S. strike on Syria, Israelis have been scrambling to get their hands on gas masks to prepare for a possible retaliation on Israel. While the Home Front Command has not called on citizens to obtain gas masks, many have already flocked to distribution points to pick up the kits.
If you are in Israel, looking to obtain a gas mask, here is how you can go about doing so.
The Home Front Command runs a user-friendly English-language website that provides information and guidance on various subjects pertaining to the obtainment and usage of gas masks, early warning alerts, and various other topics.
According to the website, a gas mask kit can be obtained in two ways:
1. By going to one of the distribution stations (listed below)
2. By ordering one via the home delivery service of the Israel Postal Authority. This service is accompanied by a delivery fee of NIS 25. For additional information on the service, contact the Israel Postal Authority's call center at *2237 or visit the Israel Postal Authority website.
The following list of gas mask kit distribution centers and their hours of activity is a translation of the one provided on the postal service's Hebrew website. Hours and dates of operation are subject to change. It is recommended to call the Home Front Command information hotline for updates. Its telephone number is 104.
