Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet on Sunday approved an amendment to Israel's penalty code to enable a more severe punishment for those convicted of throwing stones at vehicles.

It hardly require any intelligence to deduce that the proposed law will give immense power to police force to settle the scores with the opponents with high handedness.Any law acquires sanctity only when the offenders face punishment commensurate with the offense.If not ,such laws become the base of revolt which destabilizes the society.
