Israeli government cancels 2014 budget cut for yeshivas
State support to remain unchanged following marathon talks between treasury and Habayit Hayehudi representatives.
A planned 230 million shekels ($62.8 million) cut in the state budget for yeshivas for 2014, approved by the cabinet in May 2013, has been canceled. On Thursday, Habayit Hayehudi members Finance Committee Chairman Nissan Slomiansky, Economy Minister Naftali Bennett and MK Ayelet Shaked met with Finance Ministry representatives to finalize the matter.
