It is in Turkeys interests to maintain good relations with the Arab world. It is neighbour to them and has historic relations with them. They share the same religion and similar culture. It is also a market for expanding Turkish goods and services.Turkey also maintains good relations with Israel. Economic and military ties continue however Israels brutalities in the occupied territories are hindrance to better relations and affect its relations with the Arab world as well, which are far more important in the long term.Turkey will not allow its foreign policy to be held hostage to Israel's demands as it does with the US. The practice of Christianity in most of the West Bank and all of Gaza is very limited and very uncomfortable for Christians.
