Israel draws England, Croatia in Euro' 08 qualifying rounds
Israeli soccer officials say draw is 'reasonable'; Group E includes Russia, Estonia, Macedonia, Andorra.
Israel on Friday was grouped together with England, Russia, Croatia Estonia, F.Y.R Macedonia and Andorra in the draw that determined the UEFA European Championship qualifying rounds.
Israeli soccer officials responded positively to the results, commenting that they considered them to be relatively reasonable.
"It's a tough draw, but it's good in comparison to some of the other groups," Iche Menachem, the Chairman of the Israeli Football Association, said. "England is strong, but when one looks at the other groups, it (qualifying) is possible."
Croatia and Russia will be Israel's main rivals for the group's second-berth, while Estonia and Macedonia are expected to put up tough opposition, especially at home.
The tiny principality of Andorra, wedged high up in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain, is considered to be the group's weakest side.
