There is no way that the US can withstand a war with Iran, it is weak in Iraq, the majority of Shiites would back Iran, and the US has little support in the region. If Iran had thought the Brits were trespassing they could have escorted the Brits out but instead they kidnapped them at gun point. Furthermore the Iranians have refused the captured soldiers access to our consul as well as refusing to inform the UK government there whereabouts. This is against the Geneva convention and is a blatant abuse of prisoner rights. Quite diplomacy and patience is what is needed to solve the crisis of the 15 captured British navy personnel. Iran has shown itself to be a formidable foe. The Iranian leadership is subtle, capable of outthinking and outmaneuvering its enemies. It is absolutely incumbent on Israel's Mossad, as well as the American CIA to share all relevant intelligence information that may have in the event that diplomatic efforts prove to be unsuccessful.
