Iran gov't earmarks $20 million to support militant groups

Iran state radio says budget will also be used to investigate alleged U.S., British human rights abuses.

Iranian state radio reported Sunday that the country's parliament has approved a bill earmarking $20 million to support militant groups opposing the West.

It was not immediately clear which groups would receive funding from Iran, but Tehran already backs the Islamic militants Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The report says the money will also be used to investigate alleged U.S. and British human rights abuses and plots against Iran.

State radio said Sunday a committee that includes representatives from the intelligence and foreign ministries will decide how to divide the budget.

The move is seen as a reaction to U.S. and British criticism of Iran's violent crackdown on protests after the disputed June presidential election

It seems to me that focus on a troop surge in Afghanistan, when Iran is announcing to build 10 new uranium enhancement plants, is going to quit the IAEA, is going to add $20 Million for aiding terrorist groups opposing the West, Mr. Obama would realize that Afghanistan and the Taliban there is not a genuine national security risk for the US or the world. Instead, greater emphasis on a coalition to reign in Iran, and eradicating Al-Qaida and the Taliban in Pakistan is the key to deescalating tensions. Aid to help fund proper schools in the tribal regions of Pakistan, economic development to give people hope will offer an alternative to Taliban extremism, and then the focus can be eradicating Iran's nuclear capabilities and regime change in that economically sick and repressed nation.

America gives more than double this amount to Israel every week for decades to buy weapons. Every predjudicial claim involving Israels enemies should be put in context by comparing to similar issues in Israel.

Under the pretext of Human Rights, President Carter led Iran to what it is today. The people of Iran should thank him (is it any better now than at the time of the Shah?) and, of course, the whole world should thank him for his role in promoting "Peace" on earth! History will judge!

The US gives Israel $7 Million of aid PER DAY!!! I hope that 3 days worth of matching money + 362 days worth of extortion a year is enough for the US to restrain Israel's paranoia about Iran.
