The Nobel Peace Prize laureate's show will be called A Meeting of the Minds at the President's House, his spokeswoman Ayelet Frisch said Tuesday.
The program will deal with important issues in Israeli society and topics close to the President's heart, she said. One episode, airing this week, deals with relations between Arabs and Jews in Israel. In another, Peres will speak with up-and-coming young Israelis from different fields.
She says an episode will be shown about every two months on public broadcaster Channel One.
A member of Israel's founding generation, Peres is known as a tireless promoter of his country and a man of ambitious dreams of bringing Mideast peace.
He is also tech-savvy, and has a blog on Haaretz Online and a Facebook page. He has thrown his support behind nanotechnology research and an initiative to bring electric-powered cars to Israel.
Peres won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 along with Israel's then-prime minister, Yitzhak Rabin, and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat for their efforts to reach an accord.
