Interpol seeks arrest of 16 more suspects in Dubai hit
International agency had already tagged 11 with 'red notices' over killing of Hamas operative Mabhouh.
By Haaretz Service Tags: Israel Mossad Israel newsThe international police agency Interpol on Monday issued arrest notices for an additional 16 suspects over the assassination of a Hamas operative in Dubai earlier this year.
Interpol last month added to its most wanted list 11 suspected assassins allegedly responsible for killing Hamas strongman Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in his Dubai hotel in January.
The individuals were tagged with "Red Notices," according to the Interpol's official website. This brings the total of Red Notices Interpol has issued in the case to 27.
A Red Notice is intended to help police identify or locate individuals with a view to their arrest and extradition. It is not an international arrest warrant, but it has been recogniaed in a number of countries as having the legal value to serve as a basis for provisional arrest.
In addition, Interpol said it was joining a Dubai-based international task force investigating al-Mabhouh's murder.
The creation of the task force and the publication of the new Red Notices came as information provided by authorities in Dubai confirmed the international links and the large number of people involved in the assassination.
It also confirmed the role of two teams of individuals identified by the Dubai police as being linked to al-Mabhouh's murder, Interpol said.
According to the Dubai police investigation, the first team allegedly carried out the killing, while a second team, the members of which are now also subject of Red Notices, is believed to have closely watched al-Mabhouh's movements from the moment he landed at Dubai airport until his murder.
Interpol secretary general Ronald K. Noble said that the "thorough" investigation by Dubai police had established "clear" links through passport records and video surveillance of individuals and groups, as well as through DNA analysis, witness interviews and hotel, credit card, phone and transport records.
Mabhouh was found suffocated to death in his Dubai hotel room on January 20. Dubai police strongly suspect the Israeli intelligence service Mossad of carrying out the killing.

For Interpol to issue a "red notice" a prosecutor within a country must issue an arrest warrant and present it to Interpol. Had Israel done this a Red Notice would certainly have been issued. I guess they are not as bright as the Dubai Police Chief.
I don't think I would recognize any of the suspects if I bumped into them in the street. Unless they happen to get arrested somewhere that has their fingerprints or are detained for 6 weeks while their DNA is checked, I don't see how Interpol will be of much help. They are probably already settled into their daily commute into the office along with millions of other European workers and will never be identified.
Please file suit. It'll be entertaining. maybe you can get John Bolton to introduce your UN resolution, too.
Hey Interpol, 500+ women, children and babies (Christian) were hacked to death with machetes in Nigeria the other day by fellow Nigerians (moslem)... if you have resources available, go find the killers...
The guy is sent by a terrorist organization to smuggle weapons that are going to kill Israeli kindergarten children. Hamas and Iranians terrorist doing brisk business in Dubai. But hyperactive Dubai Police are, wait for it, silent. No evidence, no photos, no accusations, no DNA, no arrest warrants. As far as I am concerned, Dubai police chief can drink his milk, go peepee and then straight to bed.
Haven't you been following the news? They entered Dubai with falsified passports, assassinated a guy who had also entered with a false passport, and then split.
any interpol warrants out for the arrest of the true criminals of gaza and tehran??? immediate disolution of the interpol suggested.
Dubai should be sued for harassing and defaming Western tourists. They should also be blacklisted by the UN for harboring Islamist-Jihadist terrorists. Interpol that becomes a tool of Dubai should be regarded as terrorists and treated accordingly.
... Hezbollah killers of real, innocent Jewish victims in Buenos Aires for sixteen years!
A terrorist was killed folks, lets not lose perspective. We should just give the killers a medal for making the world a safer place, and move on...
It does not matter what is my opinion about Hamas which was supported by israel at one point but to kill one of them in the UAE Dubai is the wrong thing to do. If Israel really wants peace it must not damage the moderate Arab state security. Dubai was an open city and everyone was welcome. Now israeli are not welcome and innocent Jews who would like to visit may find it very hard to do so. Why is it the Mossad can get away with any murder in this world. Does it really help? No one believe the Israeli anymore so to say that this guy was an arm dealer or help killed some Israeli without any prove is stupid. The mossad is not scaring anyone anymore. Those who fight against Israel are not affraid to die so why don't we start a new system. Stop killing Palestinian children and stop domolishing their home and stop starving them, maybe we can find a more humain way to deal which each other. Killing people by the Mossad are out dated and simply stupid.
Shouldn't Interpol have issued an arrest order on this terrorist before he was killed?
That makes four Australians who have had their ID stolen by the plotters of murder - grimy (state) terrorists hiding behind civilians!
I don't get it. Here is an international arms dealer and terrorist who is able to move freely around Europe. Why is there not inquiry into why his goingsabout where completely ignored by the various countries he operated in?
Interpol may motion they are "issuing" warrants, but until and unless they can IDENTIFY the suspects, they cannot do anything. THe fact is the only suspects held in this case appear to be Arabs. If some leftists assisted in this hit as a method for framing Israel, then they should exposed. So far, except for the police chief's unprofessional anti-semitism there is nothing to conclude Israel is guilty of being involved. Being glad someone is dead isn't a crime, afterall.
Suggestion to Mossad: Hire some plain or homely women to go on these missions, unlike the four hotties who are depicted above. They will be less memorable. Sort of like the men who fade into the woodwork.
Would Interpol kindly provide further assistance by providing the names and nationalities of the "suspects".
I am wondering if the following people who incessantly LOVE to post here will be actively protesting the slaughter in Nigeria...they are: durson, labrhas, dutch, lincoln, silvienne, don boston, lincoln, linwaithe, mark of lewiston, and cj in genocidally stolen australia. (see the link to the story, below)... should goldstone sit by his phone? navi pillay? HRC? HRW? UNSC? http://www.nationalpost.com/news/world/story.html?id=2654020
didn't Dubai say that 2 of the suspects fled to Iran? Why were Israelis fleeing to Iran?
Names are not mentioned in this report but in others you read they are definitely not Arab. Mossad made the mistake that Dubai was some backward country like they are used to operating in and got caught. Ironic some of the anti-terrorism security measures put in place have now caught the mossad. Now if they had iris scanners and correlated that with a centralized database we would have the real names of those involved with in seconds. Good to see the tools against terrorists are now used against those from countries that believe the are above international law.
...Interpol should put the Hamas people who are involved in the kidnapping and continued imprisonment of Gilad Shalit on it. We know exactly who they are, what the look like and have a shrewd idea where they are in Gaza and Syria;Haniyeh and his clique,Zahar, the rest of the Gaza 'negotiators',Meshal and his clique in Damascus. As far as I'm aware, kidnapping and murder and being accessories to kidnapping are still serious criminal offences in civilised countries. Tamim has shown how easy it is to get Interpol involved even though he has no real evidence.Israel should follow his lead using hard facts. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
How bizarre that Interpol has called the people who own these faces suspects to murder on no greater evidence than innuendo and insinuation by a hostile Dubai policeman. At least Interpol has had the sense to describe them as being unidentified.Unlike Tamim whose unerring sense for these things leaves him in no doubt that all 27 are Mossad agents.Maybe it's the shape of the nose or the spacing of the eyes or something like that. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
If the Dobai police chief's list gets any longer I'm probably going to be on it. I once visited Israel more than 35 years ago and so my passport, too, has been copied at one time or another by someone. I must have spent $1,000 while there and that money has increased in value over time, so I suppose I indirectly paid for the man's death, if you believe Mossad and not Egypt was involved. I could have been that overweight tennis player. Collective guilt has always been directed at Jews, so I'm guilty. Where do I turn myself in? Do I get a free ticket to Dubai on Emerits Airlines? No kosher in flight meal? Forgeddaboutit!
doesn't sound too right why so many passports to get rid of a man couldn't they make it simpler task? you should know Dubai is the heavens of wife cheaters and a lot of men go on disguise to have a little fun in there..Dubai police suspected any one who has changed his looks while his stay
This whole thing has now gone beyond a joke and is now becoming an outright farce; except perhaps for those that now face red notices. Several countries have now said that they haven't got a clue as to who carried out the extermination and nobody in their right mind believes that Mossad sent around 30 operatives to carry out a simple cleansing http://www.ourchangingglobe.com/the-dubai-liquidation/.
This country renowned for criminal and terrorist activity (Pirates Cove) shows blatent disrespect for their average tourists who just came to visit the magnificant strutures created in the last few years as now has to beware of being subjected to the nutcase inspector clueless rantings of Israel Bashing. It has already been disclosed of a pal faction hit at least thats what the chineese news has to say & I believe them as they are every where
They did not kill Mother Theresa. This guy was a murderer buying Iranian arms to kill Jewish civilians. Arrest Tamim for abetting / defending a murderer.
Wow! Doesn't interpol have anything else better to do, maybe they should go after Hamas, they like to use fake passports too.
...along with those who sent them to commit the killing. Murderers should face justice, something they denied their victim.
please help me out here. i am really trying to find on the interpol most wanted list the murderers of hundreds of nigerian christians, the blown to bits muslim pilgrims and civilians in iraq, the children and women blown up in afganistan, the inocent bystanders in pakistan today, and the list is too long for here. is'nt something amiss here??? eliminating a vicious murderer brings a histeria of do gooders (only against israel?), and no one is upset over the murder of tens of thousands of inocent civilians? is there something wrong with this picture?
Since it's time for Israel to understand that it can't act (murders, identity theft, and the like) at a worldwide level with impunity (considering that all the persons involved do have a direct relation with Israel, as per the news up to date).
Soon, the dubai police will be persecuting 6 Mio. people, just in case they have done something or they might port a double citinship, I mean, israel-something....LOL
If Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was such a dangerous man, why was there no international arrest warrant issued for him to begin with? Perhaps if the international 'law-enforcement' community took the weapons trade a bit more seriously such actions would not be necessary (not that I think that this was a wise or even expedient action). The way I see it, the trading in arms should be much more closely watched and regulated. If this is an international gray zone, then why does it suddenly become a case for international justice when there is a 'settling of accounts'?
finally a story on Dubai. It all seemed to go quiet after Hamas said they think someone from Jordan did it. I am wanting to follow this story so please media, dont go quiet just cause we know it wasnt Mossad!
the initial 11 are searched for "Categories of Offences: CRIMES AGAINST LIFE AND HEALTH", the other 16 for "CRIMES AGAINST LIFE AND HEALTH COMPLICITY". mr. elvinger at worst can be accused of not more than "complicity", as he left dubai (04:30 pm) while M was still alive (return to hotel 08:30 pm). in the unlikely case that murder is proven one day - the guys on the floor may look suspicious, but only because they had obviously faked passports. nothing else would link them to a "crime scene" - if there was one. when the guy really never ate anything while on travel as reported, they might have problems to determine the time of death. whatever - its not acceptable to issue "crime and health complicity warrants" for those not being on the floor when M returned... hitting with the club rather randomly ? nobody believes there was DNA under the manucured fingernails. where was it found ?
Wow..!... Mossad must be really proud of its self... having sent a team of about 30 people to bump off one guy..
So what is the count upto now? Started at 13 them 26 now with this addition we are past 30 an going over the hill I love the hypocrisy, there is no evidence that this was Israeli done yet EU states reprimand Israel for the us ofthe passports? Fiat to be upset over the passports would hve been nice had they had a shred of hard proof but eh. What really gets me though is that Dubai has released nothing regarding the false passports that this dead terrorist used. And that the EU states gave voiced nothing over THIS TERRORISTS FRADULENT USE OF FORGED, FAKED OR TAMPERED PASSPORTS so the moral of the stroy if you kill a terrorist who I using fake passports know that the person(s) who killed te terrorist will be more closely examined for their use of passports than the terrorist who admits having used forged passports for years before his deserving death love to hear how this is spinned against israel
There is no way that this amount of people could be involved. As I said previously...if you look at some of the pictures...some are the same face with different disguises.
Honestly? - Whatever. It's a multi country multi organization deal involving a very bad person.
