Russia: Iran entitled to peaceful nuclear energy
Russian nuclear chief: When Iran's Bushehr reactor goes live it will prove Russia honors its obligations.

Sergei Kiriyenko said Thursday at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin that the launch of the nuclear reactor in Bushehr will also show that Russia respects its obligations.
Russia signed a $1 billion contract to build the plant in 1995, but its completion has been put off for years.
Delaying the project has given Russia continued influence with Iran in international attempts to have it stop uranium enrichment - a program Iran says it needs to make fuel for an envisaged reactor network but which also can be used to build atomic weapons.

It is funny that you write about what god said, then reference that same writing that you yourself wrote as proof that god said it. :) In any case, if that were the case you'd think that Israel was the longest surviving state in humanity! It is the youngest, at what about the Romans? They lasted for hundreds of years after the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple, in fact, they lasted longer than historic Israel ever did. And what about the Germans? They seem to be doing quite well decades after liquidating the Jewish communities of Europe, they literally changed the demographic makeup of Europe at the expense of Jews and yet, the have the strongest economy of europe, they are quite a wealthy nation, happy and at peace with the world and europe proper. In fact, they are better off than Israelis (hence so many have moved there, and the US for that matter) - so where do you get your info? Although it is understandable that a people who create their own god would also create the universe to revolve around them - no people ever wrote a holy book saying that ANOTHER people were chosen, that religion would have died instantly. :)
The fact is after 6 month operation the 1000 MW Busher reactor will produce some 100 kg of plutonium, equivalent to 10-15 nuclear bombs. If Israel attack the reactor will have problems with Russia and Iran can demmand international support for being attacked, because this installation is safeguarded by the AIEA.
that they are loading this weekend could produce 80 nuclear bombs. It was all supplied legally under the supervision of the AIEA. The 4 sets of sanctions had no bearing on the delivery or use of the uranium.

Iran is entitled to its nuclear program (maybe) when it racants of its continuous threats to Israel and declares Israel's right to exist as an independant Jewish nation. That will never happen. About 10 years ago, when Iran suffered a terrible earthquake which killed 10s of thousands of Iranians the "evil" and "wicked" Israel offered all kinds of medical and recovery and rescue aid. The "righteous" Iran would not accept this aid from those "infidels". Pathetic at best! Sadly, the first people to suffer from all of this will be the good and innocent people of Iran who are caught up in the pseudo-religious bru-ha-ha of their leadership.
If we could guarantee that Iran planned to use fissionable materials exclusively for peaceful uses, I might say fine. Alas, the lunatics in charge of the Iranian asylum show quite the opposite inclinations. In addition, the point during the ‘nuclear materials cycle’ at which fissionable materials are most vulnerable to diversion is during reprocessing. Given Iran’s internal security problems, I have not the least confidence that Iran has the rigor or skills to prevent terrorists from diverting fissionable materials to evoke terror. Sorry, people, but no banana.

There is something self-contradictory in Russia's behavior. On the one hand she objects to Iran enriching Uranium even to the low 3.5% level for power plants, and on the other hand supplies Iran with such processed product which allows Iran to keep her stock of Uranium. A good solution for the contradiction would have been for Russia to demand from Iran partial payment "in kind", that is, pay for the fuel rods by giving to Russia the enriched Uranium used to produce them. This should have been acceptable to Iran, after all, they claim that their Uranium is enriched to serve as fuel. The fact is that Iran does not have enough Uranium to run many power plants, so they will run out of the stuff soon enough. Problem solved.
