Is Bar Refaeli set to replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3?

Moments after American actress Megan Fox announced that she would not take part in the third installment of the hugely successful 'Transformers' blockbusters, names of possible replacement female leads began popping up.

Among the names circulating on the internet, Israeli model Bar Refaeli has been mentioned, alongside British actress Gemma Arterton, Australian model Miranda Kerr, and Sports Illustrated cover girl Brooklyn Decker.

The popular website TheWrap reports that a source close to the production of the new Transformers film said that Arterton has already met with the director, while Refaeli and Kerr have auditioned with the film's casting director.

However, the website AICN offers a different list of possible candidates, including actress Zoe Saldana, who portrayed the female lead in the immensely popular film Avatar, Hayden Panettiere of the television series Heroes, and Ashley Greene who starred in the Twilight film series.

If Refaeli scores the role, it will be her Hollywood debut. She has one previous film in her repertoire, Israeli director Haim Bozaglo's "Session," and a leading role in the Israeli telenovella "Pick Up".
