would Iran be insane enough to use Nukes? The only nation that really used nukes is the U.S. and nobody calls them insane. So insanity is much defined by the fact if the nukes will be dropped on your head or other peoples heads.

Huge Iranian energy plant explosion coincides with bid on Ahmadinejad's life. A massive explosion killed at least five workers at the giant Pardis petrochemicals complex in southern Iran Wednesday, August 4, at around 12:30 - just about the time an explosive device was hurled at Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as his heavily secured armored convoy drove through the northern Iranian city of Hamadan. This is reported by DEBKAfile's Iranian sources. Ahmadinejad was unhurt although some of his bodyguards and bystanders were certainly injured. He made straight for Hamadan's central stadium and began delivering a speech that was broadcast live by state television. Assaluyeh, the site of the Pardis complex, is situated at the opposite end of Iran, on its southern Persian Gulf coast not far from the Bushehr nuclear reactor. Iranian officials admit that large sections of the complex were destroyed but attributed the blast to a ruptured gas pipe. Iran is playing chess while Israel plays checkers. The more Iran just continues to build civilian nuclear power infrastructure, the more Israel's fear-mongering and war-hawking damages Israel. Iran is now in a position to badly damage Israel by just continuing to peacefully generate civilian nuke power! Each day Iran generates nuke power and doesn't build a nuke weapon, Iran makes a liar out of Israel. They have figured this out, and Israeli politicians fall for Iran's traps like clockwork.

As Israel has them. Iran wants them. So let them. I am not a support of Iran of Ahmedj, but if we want a nuclear free Middle-East, then Israel’s weapons will have to go.

No opposition so far has collapsed. But the reality is that the WMDs which the settler state harbors, is seriously undermining regional peace in the ME. It's simply not true that without them the settler state would be under constant threat -- don't believe it for a minute. It's all about hegemony.

The west US, IL, F, GB, D are all having nuclear power stations, but they want the poor countries to produce their electricity from wind mills. How demanding I would say.

this is a slippery slope, iran is only trying to bring about the comming of their mahdi and thats it in a nut shell. The consequences of their (illegal) regime's actions just might bring about a tenneuous period of suffering to the iranian people, because they stand by the regime? It's possible to settle the dispute : 1° Western countries should allowed Iran to enrich up to 20 % max. ( It's allowed by the NPT ) 2° To reassure Western countries Iran should sign Additional protocol ( and ratify it ) 3° All sanctions should be lifted. Of course if the real aim is to replace Iranian government by a pro-western one ..........

If Iran is able to produce all its domestic electricity needs with nuclear technology it can then export a lot more oil, which with global economic growth projection, we will need it. Also, this will produce zero emissions which is good for the planet. What we need to encourage is that every oil producing country go nuclear so that there will be little domestic oil consumption, leading to an increase in global supply of oil. It most probably will be wise for Iran to get nukes at some point, just to secure its position in the region and to fight any potential attack on its sovereign soil. We must remember that Iran has never attacked or violated the sovereignty of any state for hundreds of years. Indeed, it has been the victim of CIA stooges, US sponsored invasions, and hostility from the Soviets and Americans. It is a great testament to the veracity that they have been able to survive and grow, they now domestically produce their military hardware, nuclear technology, etc - what other nation in the region can say that? Even Turkey is now being threatened by the US to cut the military umbilical cord - had they produced and invested in military research, this would not be an issue.

Iran should be congratulated for making the move to nuclear generated power This is a move that should be made by every nation as soon as possible. Plentiful power at an affordable price will boost the world economy while saving the planet.
