Egypt publisher: The Christian version of the Bible is forged
Egyptian daily al-Masry al-Youm says Coptic Church is considering filing a complaint against the release of controversial 'forged Bible.'
By DPA Tags: Israel news EgyptAn Islamic publishing house in Egypt has published what is says is a "forged" version of the Christian Bible, angering the local Coptic Church, independent daily al-Masry al-Youm reported Thursday.

The owner of the Islamic Enlightenment Publishing House, Abuislam Abdullah, wrote in the introduction that the reason behind the book's publication was to prove that there are several versions of the bible and that Christians had forged theirs.
Abdullah claims that the version he published was written before the Book of Genesis, the Christian Old Testament.
The Coptic Church says it is extremely offended by the publication of this book, and is considering filing a complaint with Egypt's Attorney General, al-Masry al-Youm reported.
Relations between Coptic Christians, who make up around 10 per cent of the population, and the Egyptian state and Muslim majority are often tense.
The head of the Coptic Church, Pope Shenouda III, told followers earlier this week that the state was wiretapping their calls and that they should not confess sins over the phone.
Violent clashes have taken place in several areas of the country between Muslims and Christians over the past year.

Absolutely ridiculous on the part of the Egyptians. Genesis, or Bereishit in Hebrew, is one of the five books of Moses, the Pentateuch or Humash as it is called because there are five books. Since when is Islam an authority on the Old Testament. The Old Testament is the Old Testament. Period.
- They don't have the name of God - Bible means 'Book' - Jesus is not the name of any Jew in the Holy lands. - Mathew, Mark, Luke, John or Peter are not names of Jews from the Holy land. These are all names from Rome. It was rome that ordered the death of Jesus - how come the Christian HQ is in Rome and not Bethlehem? If they dont have the name of the Book or their God or their Prophet or his followers - what of the contents? How can anything meaningful be found there? They admit the book was written 200 years AFTER jesus' time in Rome. We can't get the facts right the day after 9-11 -what chance of having 'facts' after 200 years? With gay and women priests and Bishops and all the child abuse going on - are they going to amend the book - as Jesus' message? Nobody needs to prove any forged version of the Bible. Nobody is interested in a forgery of a forgery!
The Christian 'Old Testament' is nearly identical to the Tanach. Protestant one's almost identic, roman catholic one is the same but expanded with some small jewish scriptures of 100BD-100AD like Baruch, 1 & 2 Maccabees, Tobit, Judit, Book of Wisdom, Jesus Sirach.
Islam = The Religion of "Peace". Supremacist and frankly speaking fascist/totalitarian too.
