Anti-Semitic Facebook page gains over 10,000 fans

Profile displays graphic images, profanity against Jews, Israel and the United States.

Anti-Semitic Web sites are nothing new, however, the social network Facebook, which is known for its strict regulations against blatantly racist groups, has a page called F*** Israel, which has over 10,480 fans.

The page is dedicated to anti-Semitic posts and images, published by the fans on a daily basis, including graphic images, profanity against Jews, Israel and the United States.

The Facebook page displays the Nazi symbol titled "we will return to power," alongside many pictures of Adolf Hitler, and posts dedicated to Jews such as "go back to the camps."

Amongst suggestions for solutions for the "Jewish virus," the site also displays pornographic images accompanied by derogatory commentary about the Holocaust, the Middle East conflict and former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

Facebook gives users the option to report disturbing pages by pressing the 'Report Page' tab on the left-hand side of the screen. Facebook management has removed several anti-Semitic pages in the past, yet it seems that the Jewish founder of the social network, Mark Zuckerberg, has not yet picked up on this one.

Zuckerberg initially established Facebook for the use of Harvard students alone. The Web site grew so popular that he decided to open its use up to students at other universities as well, and in 2006 it was made accessible to everyone.

Last week it was made public that Facebook has the jaw-dropping number of nearly half a billion members worldwide – more than any other social network online.

Thanks for discovering an anti-Semitic site and give it visibility and free advertisement. Now are enrolled 19.425 foolish people. Do you need this to have arguments to continue to say we are the victims? That they hate you? And the Israelis (Arabs, Jews or not) who are prisoners of conscience? Do you know the event of Ameer Makhoul? And the Palestinians - children, women and men - who are in Israeli prisons, without charge? Or because they claimed to have fundamental rights? Who's have besieged in the largest concentration camp in the open, 1.5 million people without the minimum conditions for survival? (That always brings me back memories of the Warsaw ghetto, even by the fact that its heroic resistance. ) Of course ... the argument of the safety of all Jews to justify the use of methods by which their grandparents suffered. Israel only be truly safe when Palestine would be free, independent, the land fairly distributed and there was a just compensation for the plundered. And don’t mistake yourselves with the OCDE approval. It's about money not about the peoples friendship. My tribute to the Righteous and to the victims. My abomination to the culprits. I do not questioning the existence of the State of Israel, I claim that the Palestinian people is entitled to his country and both people has the right and obligation to live in peace

really, are you surprised? assuming that there is actual anti-semitic content on this page and this is not just another case of playing the anti-semitism card to try to delegitimize anti-zionism, its not exactly shocking. i'm not saying the crimes that israel commits are a legitimate excuse for anti-semitism, but they are definitely a good argument in favor of anti-zionism. are you surprised that there are 10,000 people in a world of 6 billion who are too stupid to understand the difference? israel's wildly unjust actions towards its neighbors and the native inhabitants of its land (the palestinians) very understandably makes people angry, and then, ironically, the small minority of those angry people who are fooled by the mainstream israeli narrative that "israel" and "jews" are one and the same naturally have anti-semitic feelings. i'm not saying its right (to confuse judaism the religion and/or ethnicity with zionism the warped ethnic-nationalist political ideology), i'm saying its predictable.

People that have any shread of anti-Semitic thoughts and ideas, or are just purely antic -Semitic must learn to get over their jealously/hatred and instead should turn that hatred into love and admiration, before it`s too late! Hashem(G-D) sees everything and soon a time will be apon us where you will be judged and held accountable for your actions, and there will be little mercy for the guilty.

He (she?) is one of those typical Israel-haters, in abundance on ha'aretz talkbacks, who hate EVERYTHING Israel, right or wrong, but hide behind the "criticism of Israel" excuse. They also have this rhetorical mantra they parrot every time they spew out their hatred: "Oh, so criticising Israel is antisemitic?". Even when the most blatant form of antisemitism looks them in the eye. But hey, they couldn't tell the difference anyway.

This kind of nonsence appeals to the lowest of human beings. Jewish folks have a right to live without being subjected to discrimination of any kind. To critisize a government because you disagree with their policies is one thing but to attack people simply because of their choice of religion is horrible. I suspect Facebook will close it down.

Anyone with an email account can open a separate account at facebook (for every single email account), just think how many accounts an user can establish (at yahoo, hotmail or google for instance) and do the math with the grossly inflated number of 500.000.000 "unique" facebook users. I, for instance, have more than one.

The biggest problem with the antisemitic card overplayed by so many Israelis, including yourself, is that it gets pathological Israel-haters (NOT legitimate Israel-critics) off the hook, because they may actually really not be antisemitic. However, hating a whole country and its inhabitants per se is just as deplorable as being antisemitic in my book.

sites such as Facebook and Youtube seem to be the gathering place of hateful and disgusting people. I have encountered many facebook groups that encourage violence and terrorism and are full of racist and disturbance language, for some reason reporting it doesn't remove it- there are 'anti' groups for almost every country, people, and religion, I'm all for freedom of speech but I don't feel comfortable that major social networking sites are legitimising such disgusting views- there is no place in civilised society for such vile sentiments

When your speech violates the rights of others, it is no longer free speech. The author of the site should be held accountable for his actionscomments.
