Ahmadinejad: Koran burning will bring about Israel's annihilation
Iran president calls U.S. pastor's plan to burn copies of Koran on Sept. 11 anniversary a violation of the teachings of all religions.

Speaking at a meeting between Iran's supreme religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and senior Iranian officials in Tehran, Ahmadinejad said that "the Zionists and their supporters are on the path to collapse and decline and such desperate actions will not save them, but will accelerate their fall and annihilation."
The Iranian president added that burning the Koran would be a violation of the teachings of all religions.
Florida pastor Terry Jones announced his intention to burn copies of the Muslim holy book on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks in New York City and Washington, sparking a global media storm.
It is not clear whether he will carry out his professed plan, as he declared that the plan had been scrapped earlier on Friday, but then announced that he had reconsidered and would go ahead with the burning. He explained that a N.Y.C. imam behind the plan to build an Islamic center near the site of the September 11 World Trade Center attack had agreed to nix the plan in exchange for the cancellation of the Koran burning, only to claim later that the imam had lied to him.
The imam denied ever having made any kind of deal with pastor Jones.
"I am prepared to consider meeting with anyone who is seriously committed to pursuing peace," Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said in a prepared statement. "We have no such meeting planned at this time. Our plans for the community center have not changed. With the solemn day of September 11 upon us, I encourage everyone to take time for prayer and reflection."
Shortly after Rauf made his statement, Jones and a fellow Christian preacher, K.A. Paul, of Texas, spoke to reporters briefly in Gainesville, Florida. They did not appear to be aware of Rauf's remarks. Paul said that they were waiting to hear from Rauf directly and that they were issuing him a challenge on whether a decision has been made to move the New York mosque project.
Jones and Paul did not say what would happen if they did not hear from Rauf.
On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki also blamed "Zionists" for the pastor's plans, and warned that followers of other religions, not just Islam, would retaliate against the book burning.

Ahmedinejad never actually said those words. a true translation of this infamous quote, in which he was actually quoting Khameni, is as follows :"the current occupiers of Qods (Jerusalem) will be erased from the pages of history".. meaning they will collapse one day, as did the Soviets and Saddam (whihc he refernced in the next sentence of said speech. Why don't the Jews living in America just up and leave the US for Israel?.....or from any other country where Jews live, including Iran (where, by the way, a rather large contingent of Jews now live in peace? As long as the Jews in Israel hold out for an EXCLUSIVELY Jewish state, there will be no peace for Israel. It can't be all Jewish and a democracy: Jews make a choice.
That pastor is no more a Zionist than Ahmidenajad. In that, as in so many ways, they resemble each other.

Dear leaders of the Muslim World, what is next? Blame us for global warming? The floods in Pakistan? Famine in Africa? The extinction of the Dodo bird? Just curious, what would happen if they burned Torahs? Sure, we'd be upset but that's about it. The reason is that, while it's offensive, if there is in fact a G-d his message to us does not consist of paper and ink -- it is a message comprising thoughts that cannot be harmed by book burning. I think where you see our anger is when there are beheadings in the name of religion or suicide bombings in the name of a G-d. But hey, call me crazy.

This man is the king of rhetoric. However, the possible implications of this lamb chop bearded pastor's behavior, shouldn't be underestimated. Maybe it's not apparent to some, but he's already done damage. Try explaining to the Afghans, Iraqis and other Muslims that we're trying to "liberate" them or bring about a kind of western democracy to their world.
Ahmadinejad again looks ridiculous in front of public media, like he has mentioned once that there was no homosexuals in Iran. This man has nothing smart to say . I think he knows what is coming to him . The countdown has begun.
It is obvious that the fact that media did such a coverage about this koran burning stuff is very suspicious. At the end of the day there are many nuts everywhere in the world who decide to do all sorts of absurd stuff everyday and non gets too much attention. There are people in US (such as the weapon producers) who really want a war. They may be behind all this comedy.
