French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday hosted the leaders of Germany, Jordan, Italy, Turkey, Britain, Spain and the United Nations at an emergency summit in Sharm el-Sheik. The talks focused on the way ahead now that the fighting in Gaza has, for now, abated.
