IDF soldier kills himself after learning of friend's suicide
Soldier shot himself with army-issued at base, hours after his friend did so in yard of his home.
Two Israel Defense Force soldiers who served at the same base and were known to be close friends were both found dead on Friday morning, apparently after committing suicide.
The soldiers, one age 19 and one age 20, were both from the northern Druze village of Daliyat al-Carmel.
The body of one of the soldiers was found in the yard of his house, while his friend's body was found at the army base in northern Israel where the soldiers were serving.
Initial investigations into the incident reveal that soldier found at his base apparently shot himself with his army-issued gun after hearing that his close friend had done the same just hours before.
The father of the soldier on base reportedly rushed to tell his son about his friend's death but by the time he reached the base at around 7:30 A.M., his son had already committed suicide.
