Israel Defense Forces soldiers shot and killed a Sudanese refugee during an arrest of would-be infiltrators adjacent to the Egyptian border on Friday.

The incident took place near the town of Nahal Farn.

The Sudanese refugee was accompanied by nine other compatriots, three Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip, and three Russian woman.

Soldiers opened fire when the man fled from the vehicle in which the group arrived, wounding him. He succumbed to his wounds at Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva.
