Infiltrator carrying bomb flees to Egypt; Gaza militants fire 5 mortars into Negev, causing no injuries.

IDF troops patrolling the border late Wednesday spotted a suspicious figure carrying a bag who they suspected was trying to infiltrate into Israel.
The incident, which occurred Wednesday but was only disclosed to the media on Thursday evening, took place in the southern section of the border area, a military spokesman said.
When the troops tried to arrest the man, he fled back to Egypt, leaving behind the bag, which on Thursday was found to be carrying the massive explosive.
Channel 2 News said the infiltrator intended to meet a contact who would drive him to a large city further north.
Terror groups have increased their attempts to enter Israel via Egypt to carry out attacks, as more security forces have been deployed to patrol the Gaza border.
Also on Thursday, Palestinian militants fired five mortars into Israel's northwest Negev region.
The mortars hit the Eshkol Regional Council area, and caused no injuries or damage.
Israel on Sunday bombed a metal foundry and smuggling tunnels in Gaza, after a rocket launched by Gaza militants exploded in southern Israel Saturday morning, causing no injuries.
Hamas announced last Saturday that it had reached an agreement with other militant groups in Gaza to stop firing rockets at southern Israeli towns to prevent retaliatory attacks.
Hamas has mostly refrained from firing rockets since January when Israel ended a three week offensive in Gaza, code-named Operation Cast Lead, aimed at stopping almost daily cross-border attacks.
Other Gaza militant groups have since continued with rocket attacks, but on a much smaller scale than before.

but in the unlikely event that your explanation is indeed the case, without your postulated note being cited as the source of this revelation; what i said still stands. "channel 2 news said"...
just for YOUR records, i was not bashing israel. i was just pointing out how an unsubstantiated embellishment of a story detracts from its value as "news" and makes it more like something from a gossip tabloid.
This is there usual method of operation and they probably found something written in the bag. Have you understood now?
how you conveniently remove "Channel 2 News said" line to cast doubt on the whole story. It is amazing how one line of crap, that just doesn`t fit, tends to cast doubt on your credibility eric, but what wouldn't you do when it comes to Israeli bashing would you. We can aesily immagine that removing Channel 2 News line were just peanuts for you...
Another Israeli war crime. Israel should have acted in a legal fashion similar to other moral armies like the Russian, US, Pakistani and Syrian. They should have let the terrorist cross the border, reach the targeted innocent men, women and children and let him detonate the charge and murder scores of people. Then they should have proven that the terrorist had hostile intentions and only then Eric would have allowed us to arrest him. (after all such incidents never happen down there, so Israel is completely out of line). Eric, thanks for your wise observation.
now how in the world would they know this? amazing, isn't it? how one line of crap, that just doesn't fit, tends to cast doubt on the whole story.
For the usual liars to claim here that Hamas offered a ceasefire and Israel broke it.

Just like before Cast Lead...Enough damage and the rockets stop. No response = more rockets and more terror. Golly Gee, Goldstone in nowhere to be found.
